ピーマン Bell Peppers

友達がこんな写真を見せてくれました。こんな色のピーマン見た事ありません。このピーマンにはなんと言う名前がついたんでしょうか？縞馬ピーマン？
A friend shared this picture with me.  I've never seen bell peppers of these colors.  I wondered how these bell peppers were named.  Zebra Pepper?

今日の生け花クラスから From Today's Ikebana Class

今日は月に一回の生け花クラスでした。今日のお花はアイリスと桺。数少ないお花でも綺麗に仕上がる生け花はいいですね。

Today was our one-a-month Ikebana class.  Today's flowers are irises and willows.  Ikebana requires only a few flowers and makes beautiful arrangement. 

先生が特別に母の日の生け花のアレンジを用意してくれました。私の生け花の技術はさほど良くなっていないんですけど、クラスは楽しいし、クラスの間の友達との会話がとっても楽しいです。
Our teacher prepared special Ikebana arrangement for Mother's Day.  My Ikebana skill is not getting much better, but I really enjoy the class and the chats with friends during the class.

乾燥生姜 Dried Ginger

皆様お久し振りでーす。もう４月１０日。時の過ぎるのは早い！

It's been a long time since I updated my blog last and it's 10th of April already.  Time flies.

 さて、こちらは生の生姜のスライス。これを乾燥させると健康効果が倍増だと。お友達に教わった通りにして乾燥生姜を作ってみました。
Here are fresh ginger slices.  When these slices are heated and dried, I was told that the health benefit will multiply.  So, I followed the instructions given by my friend and tried making dried ginger.

 オーブンに入れて低温で１時間後、こうなりました。

After drying them in the oven for an hour at low heat, it turned out like this.

お友達はお日様の下で乾燥させてもいいよと言っていました。南カリフォルニアではお日様がいつも高々と出て輝いているんですから、これを使わない訳はない。

I was also told that I could dry them outside under the sun.  The sun is always up and shining in Southern California, why don't I take advantage of it.

 こちらはお日様の下で３時間くらい干した生姜。テメキュラは乾燥しているから、こんなに良く乾燥しました。ガス代の節約にもなりました。
Theses are the ginger slices dried for about three hours under the sun.  They dried so well since Temecula is always so dry.  It helped save gas bill, too.

レゴランドカリフォルニア♡ Legoland California♡

先週私の大好きな場所、レゴランドへ行って来ました！

Last week, I went to one of my favorite places on earth, Legoland!

興味のない人もいるかもしれませんが、沢山のレゴの像の写真を楽しんでください。

My garden is filled with colorful flowers during this season.  Soon roses will start to bloom and add more colors.
