ラベンダークラフト Lavender Craft

私はアメリカに３週間行って先週末にミュンヘンに帰って来ました。家に帰って来てホッとしています。

I was in USA for three weeks and came back to Munich last weekend.  It is so good to be back home. 

アパートの周りにラベンダーが沢山咲いていました。

A lot of lavender was in bloom around my apartment. 

 それでお友達が送ってくれたラベンダークラフトのYouTubeリンクを思い出して、一つ作ってみようかなと思いました。
Then, I remembered a YouTube link for lavender craft sent by a friend and though of making one.

 こんな風にしてリボンをラベンダーの茎と花に巻いていきます。

Wrapping lavender stems and flowers with ribbon like this.

 出来上がりでーす。すごく可愛いし良い匂い。このラベンダーの絵葉書は日本のお友達から送られて来ました。可愛いねー。
It's done.  It's so cute and smells nice.  This lavender painting postcard was mailed by a friend in Japan.  So cute.

もっと作りました。このクラフトはセラピーのよう。作っている間中ずっとラベンダーの甘い香りがその場を包んでいました。

I made more.  This craft was so therapeutic.  The sweet aroma of lavender filled the space the whole time when I was making them.

着物リメイク Kimono Remake

 お友達のお母さんが着物を捨てようとしていましたが、私はこんな貴重で美しい着物をゴミに入れるなんて出来ませんでした。それで、それを使って何かを作ることに。
My friend's mother was going to throw away her old Kimono, but I just couldn't let such precious beautiful Kimono go into trash.  So, I decided to make something with it.

２枚の着物を解いてアイロンして出来上がったのが、５個の大小リバーシブルのバッグ。可愛いし、良かった良かった、着物が救われて私は嬉しい。
I disassembled two sets of Kimono and ironed, then made five reversible bags, big and small.  They look good and I am so happy that Kimono was saved.

布ぞうり Japanese Cloth Sandals

 布ぞうり、ずう〜〜っと作りたかったんです。本も買っていたんです。でも、何年も本棚に置きっ放だったんです。でも、とうとうその時が来たんです。
I had been wanting to make cloth sandals for a long time.  I bought this how-to-book long time ago.  It was sitting in a book shelf for a long time.  But, the time had finally come.

 先月テメキュラに帰った時に、お友達のFumieさんが教えてくれました。私の為に材料まで全て用意してくれていました。ありがとう〜！😘
When I went back to Temecula last month, my friend, Fumie-San showed me how to make them.  She even had prepared all the materials for me.  Thank you~!😘

テメキュラでは完成させられなかったのですが、数日前にやっと完成し、履くところまでこぎつけました。とっても心地よくて、ナイスです。達成感です！😊
I couldn't finish them in Temecula, but I finally completed them a few days ago and got to wear them.  It feels so comfortable and nice.  Feeling accomplished!😊

ハマってます。Hooked on This.

 先月福島のお友達を訪ねた時に、お友達のお姉様が沢山の美しい刺し子の作品を仕上げていました。とっても綺麗で恋に落ちました。
When I visited a friend in Fukushima, I had a chance to look at many beautiful Sashiko works that her sister made and I fell in love with them.

彼女のお姉様が材料やデザインが全て揃っているキットをくれました。で、始めたらもうハマってしまいました。
Her sister gave me this kit that has all the materials and design I need, so I started and I am now hooked on it.

これを仕上げたら、他のデザインもやってみたいな〜。
I want to try different designs when I finish with this one.

編み物クラスとデッサンクラス Crochet Class & Dessin Lesson

只今5足目の靴下カバーを編んでいます。お友達も作りたいと言うので、今週は我が家で編み物クラスを開きました。お昼は皆んなで持ち寄り。今週は沢山の笑いと美味しい食べ物で満ちた1週間でした。

I am crocheting now the fifth pair of room shoes. Friends said they wanted to learn, so I hosted crochet lessons this week at my house.  Lunch was potlucks. This week was filled with a lot of laughter and good food. 

今日は友達がデッサンのクラスをしてくれました。1時間のクラスの後に分かった事は。私の集中力は長続きしない事。 手より口ばかり動いてました。 レッスンは楽しかったー！

Today, my friend gave us a dessin class. What I learned after one hour of drawing class was that my attention span is very short.  I moved my mouth much more than I moved my hands.  The lesson was really fun. 

出来ました。Finished.

なーんだ。What's this?

 テレビを見ている時に何もしないで見ていられない。だから編み物を始めました。これは何になるでしょうか？クイズ簡単過ぎたかな？
I cannot watch TV without doing anything at the same time, so I started crocheting.  What do you think this is going to be?  Is this quiz too easy?

今週から会社と学校が始まりました。2週間振りに家に１人。朝の片付けを終えた後でゆっくり一人朝食を楽しみました。これも良いなー。
Boys went back to work and school this week.  I am home alone after two weeks.  I enjoyed a good breakfast alone after cleaning up all the morning messes.  It was nice.

クラフト教室 Crafting Class

昨日はオールドタウンのお店で月に一度のクラフトクラスの日でした。こちらがサンプル。さてどれくらいで仕上がるかな？

Yesterday was the day for a once-a-month crafting class at a shop in Old Town Temecula.  This is the sample.  Let's see how soon I can finish!

こちらのとっても美しいバッグは昨日お友達に頂いたもの。彼女の叔母さまが作られたそう。本当になんて素晴らしいんでしょう。私は有名ブランドバッグよりもこちらの方が大好きです。
This beautiful handbag was given to me by a friend yesterday.  She told me that it was made by her aunt.  Isn't this truly amazing?  I love this handbag much better than a famous designer handbag.

タイダイ Tie Dye

初めてタイダイやってみました。

My first time trying tie dye.

これは姪っ子のひかるちゃんの。 This is my niece, Hikaru's.

 これは私と弟の。Those are mine and my brother's.

 これは姪っ子のあかねちゃんの。This is my niece, Akane's.

 どれもこれもどんな風に仕上がるのかなー。

We all wondered how everything would turn out.

ひかるちゃんのTシャツが一番可愛いかなー。

I think Hikaru's T-shirt looks the best.

染めた後の洗いはちと大変でしたが、タイダイは楽しかったです。

The washing after dying was a bit troublesome, but it was fun doing tie dye.

私のバッグが京都刺繍修復工房のフェイスブックのタイムラインに投稿されましたー。。

My bag was posted on 京都刺繍修復工房's timeline on Facebook. 

この工房では、古い古ーい刺繍のタペストリーが修復されていました。

Very very old embroidered tapestries were being restored at this studio.

とおーーっても美しい絹糸が使われていました。

Very very beautiful silk threads were used.

クラフト仲間 My Craft Buddy

 こちら私のクラフト友の花菜ちゃん。彼女はとおーっても芸術センスが良い。フクロウのカードは私がお願いして作ってもらいました。
This is my craft buddy, Hana.  She has very good artistic sense.  This owl card was made by her at my request.

 初めてクロスステッチに挑戦。上手に出来ました。

She tried cross stitching for the first time and did a very good job.

こちらの織物も挑戦。彼女の色の選び方が好きです。

She tried this weaving, too.  I like her color choices.

 彼女用のバッグも作りました。

I made this bag for her.

 彼女のデザインと色の選択で作りました。

完璧納豆！！ Perfect Natto!!

 これは２回目の挑戦で出来た納豆。今回の出来は最高で超ハッピー！ファーマーズマーケットで売り出そうか？(^O^)
This is my second attempt of making Natto.  I am super happy with this super perfect result.  Maybe, I could sell this at the farmer's market?!  (^O^)

今回はこのアメリカの国旗製作中。

I am making this American flag this time.

３役ウォーマー Three-Way Warmer

 こちらが今朝仕上がったばかりの３役ウォーマー。

This is the three-way warmer just completed this morning.

 これが一番良くある使い方。

This is the most common way to use.

 このようにも使えます。腕が寒い時にねー。まるで身体の部分なしのセーターを着ているみたい。(^O^)
This warmer could be also used this way, when your arms are cold.  It's like wearing a sweater without body part!!  (^O^)

そして、マフラー代わりにもなります。２つあるので、一つは主人、子供もしくはお友達とシェア。脚に付けたウォーマーを首に巻きたいかは別として。。。
And this could be used as a scarf.  Since it's a pair, I wear one and the other could be shared with my husband, kids or my friends.  Setting aside the question of whether or not we want to wear the warmer as a scarf after they are being used for legs...

ハート完成 The Heart Is Completed

クラフト第２弾のハートが完成しました。今回は刺繍が沢山で肩こりましたが、綺麗な出来上がりにとっても満足です！

The Craft Part 2, the Heart is completed.  There were so many embroideries to do this time that gave me sore shoulders, but I am quite pleased with the beautiful finish.  

クラフトクラス第２弾 The Second Craft Class

こちらは２回目、２月のオールドタウンでのクラフトクラスの課題。今回はいくつかの刺繍のテクニックを教わりました。まだここまでしか終わってないー！なのに、明日１２日、３月のクラスに参加するのだ(>_<)　早く終わらせなくっちゃ！
This is the second, February assignment from the craft class in Old Town.  We learned different embroidery techniques.  I only have done this much so far and am attending another class tomorrow, 12th for the March class (>_<)  I need to hurry up and finish this one!!

布の在庫処分 Clearing Fabrics in Stock

 長い間使っていない布がいくらかあるので、それを全部使い果たすプロジェクトを先月始めました。まずは、こちらのバッグを作りました。
I have some fabrics I haven't used for a long time, so I've started a project last month to finish using up all of them.  First, I made these bags.

 このバッグはリバーシブル。

These bags are reversible.

 それから、こちらのバッグも作りました。こちらはちょっと小さめ。

Then, I made two of these bags.  These are slightly smaller.

こちらもリバーシブルです。まだまだ布があるので、デザインや色の組み合わせを思案中。

This is reversible, too.  I still have more fabrics and am trying to come up with different designs and color coordinations.
