もう2月 & 恵敏のお誕生日。 Already February & Kevin's Birthday

またまたアッと言う間に時は過ぎ、投稿が。。

Again, time flew so fast and I haven't been able to post much. but..

この可愛い男の子は、昨日2月4日で22歳になった恵敏です。本当に可愛いなぁ〜！

This cute boy, Kevin turned 22 yesterday on February 4th.  He is adorable!

今はとってもハンサムな若い青年。今年の6月で大学を卒業します。

Now he is a handsome young adult.  He will be graduating from a university this June.

28年目の結婚記念日 28th Wedding Anniversary

８月１１日は２８回目の結婚記念日でした。タケちゃんがバイオリンコンサートとお洒落なディナーをアレンジしてくれました。このバイオリンソリストがメチャ上手でとっても印象的でした。

August 11th was our 28th wedding anniversary.  T.K. arranged a ticket for a violin concert and a fancy dinner.  This violin soloist was super good and impressive.

 こちらがその晩のメニュー。This was the menu for that night.

モッツァレラチーズとプチトマト。Mozzarella cheese and a mini tomato.

 アボガドとヨーグルトの冷製スープ。さっぱりしていて美味しかったー。

Chilled avocado and yogurt soup.  It was very refreshing and delicious.

 こちらがメイン。This was the main dish.

 ドイツの赤ワインを一杯頂きました。フルーティーで軽くて美味しかった。

I had a glass of German red wine.  It was fruity and light and I liked it.

 デザート食べたらもうかなりお腹いっぱい。

By the time I finished my dessert, I was quite stuffed.

駐車場へ向かう途中、偶然その日のコンサートのバイオリンソリストに遭遇。街中でちょっとお喋り。現在21歳のイタリア人の彼は7歳の時からバイオリンを始めたそうです。彼の名前はPaolo Tagliamentoさん。とっても素敵な結婚記念日の晩をアレンジしてくれた夫に感謝。
On the way to a parking garage,  we came across the violin soloist from that night's concert by coincidence.  We chatted a little on the street.  His name is Paolo Tagliamento.  He started his violin when he was seven and now is 21 years old.  Thanks to my hubby for arranging a nice anniversary evening.

引き算 Subtraction

 楽しかった家族五人での冬休みも終わりを迎えました。

Five of us together fun family winter break came to an end.

 一人づつそれぞれの場所に戻って行きました。

Each went back to their own place.

 最初に帰ったのはカリフォルニアに向かうケビン。

First to leave was Kevin going back to California.

 そして次はカンザスシティーに帰った啓安。

Next was Joshua going back to Kansas City.

そして最後は東海岸のお友達の所へ向かった理輝。

And the last was Riki flying to East Coast to visit his friend.

ちゃん一家に関しては足し算はいいですけど、引き算は寂しいですねー。

When it comes to Chan family, addition is nice, but subtraction is sad....

理輝23歳の誕生日 Riki's 23rd Birthday

今日は理輝の２３回目のお誕生日でした。

Today was Riki's 23rd birthday.

２０年前の理輝。Riki, twenty years ago.

今日の理輝。Riki, today.

今日は家族全員で理輝のお誕生日を祝えたことに感謝です。晩御飯はギリシャ料理レストランへ行きました。めちゃ美味しかった。
I'm so grateful that all of us were here together to celebrate his birthday today.  We went to a Greek restaurant for dinner and the food was excellent.

メリークリスマス。皆んな一緒 Merry Christmas! All Together

 チャン一家の息子達が一人ずつ違う場所からミュンヘンにやって来ました。一番乗りは日本から来た理輝。
The sons of Chan family arrived in Munich one by one from different places.  The first one to arrive was Riki from Japan.

 そして次はカリフォルニアから来た恵敏。

The next one to arrive was Kevin from California.

家族４人が揃った頃、啓安はまだまだ期末試験の勉強中。

When four of us were together, Joshua was still in the midst of studying for finals.

そしてやっと先週の金曜日に兄弟３人が揃いました。皆んな強くてハンサム😍

Finally last Friday, all three brothers were united.  They are all strong and handsome😍

皆んなで一緒にホリデーシーズンを迎える事が出来てとても感謝です。

We are so grateful that we could spend this holiday season together.

日本に２週間 Two Weeks In Japan

日本に２週間行ってました。

I was in Japan for two weeks.

姪っ子の第３子誕生。新生児の赤ちゃんってこんなに小さかったんですね。本当に本当にとーっても可愛かったです。いつまで見ていても飽きなくって、バイバイいうのが寂しかったなー。近くにいて育つ過程をずっと見ていたかったなー。

My niece's third baby was born.  I forgot how tiny a newborn baby was.  She was so cute and precious.  I never got bored of looking at her and it was hard to say good bye.  Wished I could stay there to see every step of her growing up.  

うちの息子たちもメロメロ。。。 My boys were in love with her, too.

こちらは弟が木から取って来た蜂の巣。そしてその中から取り出した蜂の幼虫。そしてそれをじっくり煎って軽く塩をしたもの。美味しくいただきました。

This is the bee hive my brother removed from a tree.  The larvae taken out of the bee hive and were well toasted and lightly salted.  They were yummy.  

髪も切って来ました。１５５０円。ショートヘアは手入れがめっちゃ楽！

I had my hair cut.  It cost me about 15 dollars.  The short hair is so much easier to take care!

小澤征爾さんのコンサート本当に素晴らしかったです。

The concert of Seiji Ozawa was amazing.

父の作る桃、美味しかったー！

The peaches my father grew were so tasty.

ミュンヘンの空港に着いたらスターウォーズ飛行機が。

I came across this Star Wars airplane when I arrived at the Munich airport.

２週間はあっという間でした。

Two weeks went so fast.

理輝22歳 Riki Turned 22

1月4日に理輝が22歳になりました。今年は一緒にお祝いできて嬉しかった。秋には大学卒業です。

Riki turned 22 on January 4th. I was glad that we were able to celebrate his birthday together this year.  He will be graduating from a university in fall. 

今週は福島のお友達を訪問したり。。

This weekend, I visited a friend in Fukushima and

 

東京でメッチャ美味しいフランス料理を頂きました。料理というより芸術です。

...was treated to an amazing French dinner in Tokyo. It wasn't just a dinner, it was an art!

初めてのスノーボード First Time Snowboarding

 

男子3人初めてのスノーボード挑戦。

Boys tried snowboarding for the first time. 

 

先ずはストレッチ。 First, did some stretching. 

 

次は転び方を学ぶ 。Then, learned how to fall. 

 

 マミと写真撮影。 Took some photos with mom. 

 

ひたすら練習。Went on practicing. 

 

母はひたすら食堂で待つ。

Mother kept waiting on boys in a cafeteria. 

 

肉まんが美味しい！Steamed meat buns tasted good! 

 

暗くなるまでずっと滑ってましたー。流石の若い3人も初めてのスノーボードの後はあちこち痛かったらしく、家に帰っての温かいお風呂が最高だった様です。

They were snowboarding until dark.  After their first time snowboarding, they had pain here and there though they are young and hot bath was super soothing for them when we got back home. 

メリークリスマス！ Merry Christmas!

 メリークリスマス！！今年は日本で家族揃ってクリスマスを迎えられる事に感謝です。

Merry Christmas!  We are so grateful that we can celebrate Christmas all five of us together in Japan this year. 

バイバイ息子達 バイバイアメリカ Good-bye Sons, Good-bye America

お別れの時が来ました。まずは和牛を食べて身体に栄養を与えました。

The time had come to say good-bye. We nourished our body with Wagyu beef at first. 

良い子はキャンディをもらい、お別れの準備。

A good girl got candies and prepared herself to say farewell. 

父母は息子二人を南カリフォルニアに残してドイツへ旅立ちます。

Daddy and mommy are leaving two sons in S. California and departing for Germany.

子供達にサヨナラ言うのは寂しかったけど(ちょっと泣いちゃったけど(^^;; ) 前に進まなくっちゃ！子供達が皆巣を離れた今、私は人生の次のチャプターを楽しむ準備バッチリです。

I was sad to say good-bye to boys( I cried a little bit (^^;; ), but I must move on. Now, all of our children left our nest and I am ready to enjoy the next chapter in life. 

ケビンの高校卒業式 Kevin's High School Graduation

 木曜日はケビンの高校の卒業式でした。午後７時から始まりました。

Thursday was Kevin's high school graduation.  It started at 7pm.

ケビンが何処にいるかわかりますか？サングラスかけてる前から５番目が彼です。
Can you spot Kevin?  He is the one with sunglasses and the fifth from the front.

卒業証書を頂きました。

Receiving high school diploma, yay!

 おめでとう！卒業です！帽子を投げたー！

Congratulations! They all graduated!! Throwing their caps!

 末っ子の恵敏もとうとう卒業。理輝は京都にいるから卒業式に出席出来なかった。。
The youngest of three sons, Kevin, has finally graduated.  Riki couldn't attend the graduation as he is studying in Kyoto.

彼はこの夏からカリフォルニア州立大学リバーサイド校で大学生活をスタートします。
He will be starting his college life at the University of California Riverside this summer.
