バケーション Vacation

１週間もブログを更新しなかった理由はこれです。

This is the reason I did't update my blog for a week.

家族旅行で沖縄に行っていました。青い海と青い空が美しい！

We were in Okinawa for family vacation.  The blue ocean and the blue sky were beautiful!!  

剪定と蛇 Trimming trees & a snake

よしあとダディーも日本へ来ましたー。半年ぶりに皆そろいましたー。
Joshua and daddy arrived in Japan.  All of us are together after a half year.

一緒に剪定作業。

All worked together and trimmed trees.

庭仕事を楽しんでいたよしあの手元に。。な。。な。。なんと。。！

Just right at the spot where Joshua was trimming the tree......  , surprise!!

細長ーーい蛇が！！啓安は慌ててはしごから飛び降りました。

A skinny long snake!!!  Joshua jumped off the ladder.

定年後はこんな感じ?!

Would it be like this after retirement?!

コルネット Cornet

姪が学校からコルネット（トランペットの小さい版）を家で練習する為に持ってきました。ちょっと面白そうだから、私も練習してみました。

My niece brought a cornet  (smaller version of a trumpet) from school to practice at home.  It seemed fun to play, so I tried practicing.

音を出すのは思ったより難しかったですけど、とても楽しかったです！２日間の練習でやっと出来たのが「メリーさんの羊」でーす！

It was much harder to play than I thought, but it was really fun!!  "Mary had a little lamb" was the only song I could play for now after practicing for two days.  

茶道 Tea Ceremony

 学校で茶道を習っていた姪がお茶を立ててくれました。
My niece who was in SADOH club (Tea Ceremony club)  prepared tea for us.

 彼女がお茶を立てている間に、ケビンは抹茶餅をいただきました。
While she was preparing green tea, Kevin enjoyed the sweet, a green tea mochi(rice cake.)

抹茶！Green Tea!

日本に来たらいつも食べたいものの一つがこちらー。

This is something I always want to eat when I visit Japan.

 見て下さい、この高さ。姪と私の２つのお腹がいっぱいになりました。
Look at this height!  It's big enough to fill two stomachs, my niece's and mine.

こちらのお茶屋さんの抹茶アイスは格別おいしいですー！

The green tea ice cream from this green tea shop is extra tasty.

いつも子だくさんのお母さんに見られます。まあ、彼女達は私の娘同然ですけどねー。
It always seems like I have many kids.  Well, I do treat my nieces as if they were my daughters.

Here is the recipe for cooking green tea leaves after using the tea leaves for drinking.  Those who needs translations, please let me know.

ケビンおじちゃん Uncle Kevin

 今日は、ケビンのいとこが１歳半の子供を連れて遊びに来ました。子供好きなケビンおじちゃんが面倒を見てくれてまーす。
Today, Kevin's cousin came to visit us with her one and a half year old son.  Uncle Kevin who loves children looked after him.

庭には甘いサクランボが沢山なっています。

A lot of sweet cherries are growing in the garden.

２人とも可愛いー！They are both cute!

日本到着！Arrived in Japan!

 シンガポールを夜の９時半に出て、日本へ翌日朝の５時１５分に到着。羽田空港からモノレールに乗って新宿へ。
We departed Singapore at 9:30pm and arrived in Japan at 5:15am on the next day.  We took a monorail from Haneda Airport to Shinjuku.

 こちら、モノレールの車内。朝早かったのですいていました。
This is inside the monorail.  It was still early in the morning, so the train wasn't so packed.

 久しぶりに新幹線を見ました〜！日本の電車ってやっぱりかっこいー。
I haven't seen Shinkansens(Japanese Bullet Trains) for a long time.  They are so cool!!

 新宿駅で、朝ラーメン！いや〜、超美味しーー！！
We had Ramens(Japanese soup noodle) for breakfast.  They were super good!

大きなスーツケースは家族や友達、ご近所さんへのおみやげでいっぱい。小さい方は私達の洋服や小物。

One big suitcase is filled with souvenirs for family, friends and neighbors.  One small suitcase is for our clothes and personal items.  

大自然に囲まれた田舎の実家に到着です。左手の家は弟家族の家です。右側にちょっと見えるのが両親の家です。
We finally arrived at my country side home that is surrounded by Mother Nature.  The house on the left is my bother's house.  The one on the right is my parents' house.
