おとうさん。Daddy.

昨日は一日、おとうさん学校で頑張りました。Watch D.O.G.S.というプログラムの一環で、我が家のおとうさんもボランティア。このプログラムはアメリカの学校で行われているもので、お父さん達が子供の教育にもっと参加する事を促すとともに、お父さんが学校にいる事で、安全で安心して学べる環境を子供達に与えるというような事が目的。実際昨日はあちこちのクラスに行って、計算の苦手な子供を助けたり、先生の助手をしたり、休み時間の見守り役をしたり、ケビンのクラスでは、会社でしている自分の仕事の発表（半導体がどんなところでどのように使われているかとか。。。）をしたりしました。とても楽しい一日だったそうです。とかく子供の学校の事となると出かけていくのはいつもお母さん。お父さん達ももっと参加するといいですね。

Daddy volunteered at elementary school all day yesterday. It is part of the program called "Watch D.O.G.S." He was given a schedule for that day. He went into different classrooms to help students who are struggling with math and so on.. He watched kids during the recess. He gave presentation in Kevin's class about what he does at work and how I.C. chips are used in different things etc. He said he really enjoyed the day with kids at school. I think this program is very meaningful. It always tends to be mothers who go to schools for different reasons. More and more fathers should be encouraged to join in such program.

Surprise. びっくり！

数日前に驚きのお届けもの。めちゃめちゃ可愛いくまちゃん。オリジナルのシャツを着てます！私の誕生日を一緒に祝ってくれたみんな〜〜、ありがとう！！カードもメールもありがとう。
I received a surprise gift few days ago. It's a really really cute bear wearing very original shirt. Thank you all so much for celebrating my birthday together!! Thank you for cards and e-mails.

Liquid diet. 流動食

水曜日。よしあは矯正を始めた。とにかくこれが痛いらしい。。。かむ事もままならない可哀相な息子に。。。。これまたグッドなタイミングで購入したブレンダーを使い、夕飯を全部液状にした。ん。ん。ん。。見た目オッケー。味？思ったより悪くはない。ただ気持ちの問題だろう。かまなくても良い。吸い込むだけなのに、息子の食が進まない。。。
Joshua got braces on for the first time on Wednesday. He said it's quite painful and hard to bite and chew....Poor son...
It was perfect that I bought the blender that day (I didn't have Joshua in mind at that time). I put all the dinner into blender and made them into liquid. It looks OK. Taste?? Not so bad! It's just the idea of mixing all the dinner together and making them into paste somehow slows down his appetite.

Shopping game.買い物ゲーム

昨日はどうしたんだろう？色んな買い物をしてしまった。
全部で５,０００ドル位つかっちゃったかな〜〜。キャ〜〜！！！
では問題です。高い買い物から順番に並べて下さい。。。。
Wow, I did so much shopping yesterday!! I spent over $5,000 US dollars all together.
Here is the question. Put the items in order from the most expensive to the least.

実は。。昨日の話にはさらにとんでもない続きが。。。

私の美しい新車に突っ込んできた加害者はその場を逃げ去った！！とんでもない奴だ！！幸い最近の携帯電話というのは便利なもので、主人はライセンスプレートの写真を撮っていた。警察がきて現場を調べた際、警察のデータベースから車の持ち主は明らかに。。さてこれからどうなる。。

Actually, there are more to add to the news yesterday.  The driver who hit my BEAUTIFUL  car drove away without leaving any information.  Thanks to the modern cellphone technology.  My husband was able to take the picture of the license plate of the truck(pick-up truck) and the police was right away able to track down the owner of this truck.  Well, let's see what will happen??!!

私の美しい新車が！！変わり果てた姿で帰宅。。。

信号待ちしていたところへ後ろからトラックが突っ込んできて。。。ガチャ〜〜ン。幸い運転していた主人は無事。

久しぶりのブログでこんな暗いニュース。や〜〜ね。この次は明るいニュースを。。。。

My BEAUTIFUL car came home with a totally different look....... 

SO MISERABLE...

A very tall truck crushed into my car from behind while my husband was waiting at the red signal.  Fortunately, my husband is OK. 

I haven't blogged for a while and the first news is such an unhappy one.  I will surely come back with a HAPPY news soon.
