里芋 Taro Potato

 里芋の葉っぱがとっても大きくなってずいぶんになるので、ほってみる事に。
It's been a while since Taro potato leaves had grown so big, so we've decided to dig out potatoes.

 たけちゃんがほってくれました。

 一袋３ドルくらいで買った里芋。そのうちのいくつかを植えたら、倍以上になった！さてここで全部を食べきらないで少し残して植えてまた収穫して食べる。。自給自足の法則でしょうか？！
I bought a bag of Taro for three dollars and planted a few in my garden, then the Taro multiplied.  Now, if I don't eat them all after harvest and leave some for planting, then I could harvest some more and eat...  This is the law of self-sufficient living?!

シンプルに茹でて食べました。とっても柔らかくて美味しかった。

Taro potatoes were simply boiled and eaten.  They were so soft and delicious.

ディズニーランド Disneyland

 火曜日に女友達とディズニーランドとカリフォルニアアドベンチャーへ行って来ました。

I went to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure with girl friends on Tuesday.

 前回行ったのは1997年、17年前です。

The last time I went was seventeen years ago, back in 1997.

 こちらはカリフォルニアアドベンチャー。ディズニーランドのお隣です。

This is California Adventure, right next to Disneyland.

キノコが。。Mushrooms....

 南カリフォルニアは日曜日から雨続き。ここは滅多に雨が降らないので深刻な水不足、この度の雨は恵みの雨です。
It's been raining since Sunday in Southern California.  We seldom have rain here and we are experiencing serious drought, so this rain is a blessing.

 昨日庭にこんな物が沢山生えているのを発見。これが食べられる茸ならとっても嬉しいのですが。。。
I found some mushrooms growing in my front yard yesterday.  I wished they were edible mushrooms...

そうだ！冷蔵庫の中にある茸の胞子をここに蒔いてみようかな？！

Maybe, I could sprinkle some mushroom spores taken from the mushrooms in the refrigerator out here?!

久しぶりの青空。やっぱり気持ちいい！

The blue sky is back and it makes me feel really good!

１２月です! It's December!

２０１４年も最後の月、１２月になりました。それで、今年最後のチャレンジをする事に決めました。
The last month of 2014, December is here and I've decided to do the last challenge of the year.

そのチャレンジはこれ、四股ふみを年末まで毎日２０回です。皆さんも私と一緒にやりませんかー！！！四股踏みには沢山良い効果があるそうですよ。
The challenge is this, Sumo Squat for 20 times a day until the end of this year.  You all are welcome to join me!!!  Sumo Squat seems to have a lot of health benefits!

感謝祭 Thanksgiving

昨日は感謝祭でした。

Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day.  

沢山食べましたよ。私はサラダとパンとパンプキンチーズケーキを作りました。デザートが写っていませんが沢山ありました。。

We ate a lot!  I made salad, bread and pumpkin cheesecake.  Desserts are not in this photo, but we had a lot.

食事の後は、1.2キロ体重が増えていました。でも、今日、朝の諸々をすませたら、体重は元に戻っていました。(^0^)
I gained 2.2 lbs after dinner, but I lost all of it after the morning routine today.  (^0^)

メキシカン食料品店 Mexican Grocery Store

新しくオープンしたメキシカン食料品店に行って来ました。とにかく面白い物が沢山。

I went to a newly opened Mexican grocery store.  There were so many interesting things.

 これは分かる、これはトルティアを暖かく保つ入れ物。

I know this one.  This is a container to keep tortillas warm.

 なんか前にテレビ番組で見た事があるけど何の為か覚えてない。。。

I've seen this on TV, but I don't remember what this is for.

 これは多分トルティアを作る時に使うもの。

This must be to use to make tortillas.

 全く分からん。No idea.

 でかいカボチャー！どんな味なんだろう？

 これは多分カクタスフルーツ。

I believe these are cactus fruits.

 こちらは毛のついたハヤトウリ。

These are Mexican prickly chayote.
