お味は？ Taste?

昨日作ったキムチを白いご飯と一緒晩ご飯にいただきました。美味しかったですー。この次は自分の好きなように甘さや塩加減などを調節して作ったら、我が家の味になると思いました。今回は私のお友達の家の味です。
We had some rice and the Kim Chi I made with my Korean friend yesterday for dinner.  It was delicious.  Next time, I can adjust the sweetness, saltiness and etc. in the way our family would like then I will have "the Chan's Kim Chi."  This one we ate was the flavor of my friend's family.

手作りキムチ Homemade Kim Chi

韓国人のお友達がキムチを沢山漬けると言うのでお手伝いに。お手伝いと言うより、キムチ作り教室って感じでした。
A Korean friend said she was going to make a lot of Kim Chi, so I went to help her.   It was actually more like a Kim Chi making class.

粉唐辛子が♡になってるー！

Chili powder is in ♡ shape!

 大根、ネギ、粉唐辛子、梨、ニンニク、ショウガ、砂糖、ナンプラー、水、塩が入っています。
Daikon radish, green onion, chili powder, Asian pear, garlic, ginger, sugar, fish sauce, water, salt were in the bowl.

 一晩塩水に浸けた白菜に大根のミックスを挟んでいきました。
We stuffed radish mixture between cabbage leaves which were soaked in salt water overnight.

じゃじゃーーん。１日置いたら食べられまーす。明日が楽しみーー！
Tada~!  Let it sit for a day then we can eat.  Looking forward to tasting it tomorrow!

最後の一つ The last one

シンガポールに引っ越してからかれこれ１年４ヶ月。引っ越す前に沢山トイレットペーパーやジップロックバッグ、ペーパープレートにペーパーカップなどを買って他の引っ越し荷物と一緒に送りました。これは最後のコスコのトイレットペーパー。間に買い足してはいましたが、これからはいつもこちらのを買わなくちゃ！どのブランドのが柔らかくて強いかしらー？
It's been a year and four months since we moved to Singapore.  I bought a lot of bathroom tissues, Ziplock bags, paper plates and cups etc.  and shipped them with all other moving stuff.  This is the last roll of bathroom tissue from Costco.  I did buy some from local stores sometimes, but now I have to buy them here all the time.  I have to find out which brand's is soft and strong.

蟻さん Ants

あらら、床に落ちたジュースの跡を蟻さんに見つけられちゃった！

Oh no, ants found the juice stain on the floor!!

どうやら、この蟻さん達は、外から入って来たらしい。家の中にあったジュースの跡をどうやって見つけたんだろう？すごい！ちょっと調べてみたらこんな答えが。。彼らは常に食べ物を探してあちこちをうろうろしているらしい。。。
It seems that they came in from outside the door.  How did they find out the juice stain inside the house?  I found some answer here on the web.  They seem to have a "search party" out there somewhere all the time....

全部の蟻を殺す事もないので、お目当てのジュースを綺麗に拭き取ったら、いつの間にか皆さん他の場所へ移動したようです。
I didn't need to kill all the ants, so I wiped their treasure/juice stain off the floor, then they all moved to somewhere else.

収穫 Harvest

 見て下さ〜い。我が家のゴーヤがとても立派に育って、今日初めて収穫しました。
Look, look, look!!!  Our bitter melons grew very well and we had the very first harvest today.

ゴーヤを使って、晩ご飯にゴーヤチャンプルを作りました。美味しかったです！
I used the bitter melons to cook "GOYA CHAMPURU" for dinner.  It was delicious!!!

クリスマス？ Christmas?

 こちらは、シンガポールの銀座とでも言いましょうか。オーチャード通り。今月に入ったらもう通りはクリスマスの飾りが。
This is downtown Singapore, Orchard Rd.  The street is already colorfully decorated for Christmas since the beginning of this month.

 とても綺麗ですけど。。。早過ぎません？

They are beautiful, but isn't it a bit too early?

 ちなみに、今日の最高気温は３１度。最低気温は２５度。夏です〜！
FYI, today's highest temperature was 88F and the lowest was 77F.  It's summer~~!!
