年越し蕎麦 Soba Noodle

ミュンヘンは日本食があまり手に入りません。だから食べたい物は自分で作る！
We cannot get much Japanese food in Munich, so we must make what we want to eat!

大晦日は年越し蕎麦が食べたい。

We wanted to eat Soba noodles(Toshikoshi Soba) on the New Years eve. 

 蕎麦粉を買って来て作りました。短い短い蕎麦になっちゃったけど味は良い！
We bought Buckwheat flour and made Soba noodles.  Noodles were very short, but they tasted very well!

天ぷらと一緒で最高でした。

It was delicious with Tempura.

南アフリカ お魚編 South Africa: Fishing

南アフリカ旅行からまだまだ沢山投稿したい事があるんです。では、パート３。大きなお魚でしょー！私が釣ったんじゃないんです。私は船酔いするから家で寝てました。それに朝4時に起きたくなかったし。。
There are many more things I want to post from the trip to South Africa.  Here is Part 3.  Isn't this fish BIG?!  I didn't catch it.  I get seasick, so I didn't go fishing.  I stayed home and rested.  Besides, I didn't want to wake up at 4am.

この魚はたけちゃんが釣りました。釣ったばかりの時はこんなに黄色かったんだね。

This fish was caught by T.K.  It was so yellow when it's just caught.

たけちゃん4匹の魚、シイラ3匹とカツオ1匹を家に持って帰って来ました。

He came home with four fish, three Mahi Mahi and one Bonito.

このお魚達とっても大きくて重かったです。

These fish were very BIG and heavy!

なんか顔がちょっと怖い。

 Their faces are a bit scary.

たけちゃんとお友達、お魚をさばくのにかなり時間を費やしましたよ。

T.K. and his friend had to spend quite some time cleaning the fish.

 焼いたり煮たりスープにしたり。とっても美味しかったです。

Fish was grilled, simmered and made into soup.  They were all yummy.

魚がとっても大きかったので、私たちが食べたのはほんの一部。残りは冷凍しました。
The fish was so big that we ate very little portion of it and froze the rest.

メリークリスマス。皆んな一緒 Merry Christmas! All Together

 チャン一家の息子達が一人ずつ違う場所からミュンヘンにやって来ました。一番乗りは日本から来た理輝。
The sons of Chan family arrived in Munich one by one from different places.  The first one to arrive was Riki from Japan.

 そして次はカリフォルニアから来た恵敏。

The next one to arrive was Kevin from California.

家族４人が揃った頃、啓安はまだまだ期末試験の勉強中。

When four of us were together, Joshua was still in the midst of studying for finals.

そしてやっと先週の金曜日に兄弟３人が揃いました。皆んな強くてハンサム😍

Finally last Friday, all three brothers were united.  They are all strong and handsome😍

皆んなで一緒にホリデーシーズンを迎える事が出来てとても感謝です。

We are so grateful that we could spend this holiday season together.

南アフリカパート２ South Africa Part 2

今回訪れたのは Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park。ちなみに青色で囲んだのがまだ子供が小さかった17年程前に訪れたクルーガー国立公園。動物達との遭遇の感動の思い出はまだまだ鮮明です。

Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is where we visited this time.  The one in blue circle is Kruger National Park where we visited about 17 years ago when children were still very young.  The exciting memories of animal encounter are still vivid.  

公園に入ったら車から降りることは出来ません。

Once you go into the park, you cannot get out of a car.

この広い公園でどれほどの動物を見つける事ができるでしょうか？

How many animals we can spot in such a big park?

まず見つけたのがこのインパラ。インパラは公園のあちこちで見つける事が出来ます。

The first one we spotted was impalas.  Impalas are easy to spot at many places in the park.

そしてゾウさん。Then, elephant.

シマウマさんは綺麗です。Zebras are beautiful.

これはオグロヌー(Blue wildebeest)だそうです。

This is blue wildebeest.

これはシロサイ。デカかったー！

This is white rhinoceros.  They were huge!

 これはクーズー(greater kudu)。身体に白い線が入っているのが見えますか？

This is greater kudu.  Can you see the white lines on their body?

とにかく可愛くって私が恋に落ちた糞転がし。とにもかくにも可愛かった！糞の球にしがみ付いているのが雌で一生懸命に押している働き者が雄。彼らは本当に素晴らしい。

I fell in love with this cutest dung beetles.  They were just so cute!  The one tightly clinging to the dung ball is female and the one pushing the dung ball very hard is hard-working male.  They are amazing.

猪家族。赤ちゃん達が可愛い！

Warthog family.  Babies were so cute!

この日のハイライトはこのキリンさん達。超可愛かったですよ。私達の方を見ている姿も可愛かった〜！

The highlight of that day was those giraffes.  They were super cute!  The way they were looking at us was very cute, too!

このお猿さん達は泊まっていたゲストハウスの近くで見かけました。

We encountered those monkeys near the guest house we stayed.

南アフリカダーバンその１ Durban, South Africa Part 1

南アフリカのダーバンへ１０日間ほど行って来ました。場所は私が指差している辺りです。
T.K. and I went to Durban, South Africa for 10 days.  It's where I'm pointing.

私達はこのキングシャカ国際空港に降り立ちました。この新しくて綺麗な空港は７年前にダーバンがサッカーのW杯をホストした時に建てられたそうです。
We landed at this King Shaka International Airport.  This new and beautiful airport was build seven years ago when Durban hosted the FIFA World Cup.

 ダーバンは今初夏。サーファーのサンタさんがお出迎えしてくれました。
Durban is now early summer.  A Surfer Santa Claus welcomed us.

 ダーバンはビーチシティ。Durban is a beach city.

 カリフォルニアのビーチのようでしたが、それほど混雑がなくいい感じでした。
It was like the beaches in California, but it was less crowded and nice.

潮溜まりには色んなお魚やサンゴ礁も見られて楽しかったです。
It was fun seeing colorful fishes and corals in tidal pools.

久しぶりに海水に浸かりました。気持ち良くってリラックスーでしたけどこの日は曇りでちょっと寒かった。。

I haven't gone into seawater for a long time.  I felt so good and relaxed, but it was a bit chilly because it was a cloudy day.

私達が泊まったゲストハウスはとても素敵な海の景色が見られました。
The guest house we stayed had a very nice ocean view.

自然に囲まれたゲストハウスではお猿さんがお部屋の中の果物を盗みにやって来ます。バルコニーのテーブルの上にいるお猿さんの尻尾が見えますか？

At this guest house surrounded by nature, monkeys come to visit trying to steal fruits in guest rooms.  Can you see the tail of a monkey on a table in balcony?

アドベントカレンダー Advent Calendar

 昨日タケちゃんが会社からアドベントカレンダーをもらって来ました。

Tak Kei brought back home a advent calendar he got from his company yesterday.

 今日は12月1日なのでアドベントカレンダーの1日目を開けました。

Today is December 1st, so I opened the first day of this advent calendar.

 今朝は朝焼けがとても綺麗でした。

The sunrise this morning was very beautiful.

そして今日１日をこんな美しい夕焼けで終わる事が出来る事に感謝。

I am grateful for ending this day with such beautiful sunset.

ドイツの小学校の算数 Elementary Math in Germany

 月曜日にお友達の娘ちゃんを小学校にお迎えに行きました。

I went to pick up my friend's daughter at her elementary school on Monday.

 彼女のお家に着いた後、ドイツの小学校一年生が学校でどんな事を学んでいるのか興味があったので、宿題を見せてもらいました。

After we arrived at her house, I asked her to show me her homework because I was very curious about what Grade-1 German students were learning in school.

これは彼女の算数の宿題。算数がドイツでどの様に教えられているのかが面白いなーと思いました。
This was her math homework.  I found it interesting how math was taught in Germany.

さてこれは数日前に友達から送られてきた算数の問題ですけど。是非挑戦していて下さい。細かい所を良く見て下さいね。トリックは何もありません。

粉雪 Powder Snow

朝起きたらこの景色。直ぐにバルコニーに出て雪だるまを作ろうと思ったんだけど、雪があまりにも粉雪でこんな小さなダルマちゃんしか出来ませんでした。そして雪は全部午後には溶けて無くなっちゃいました。
I woke up to this view this morning.  I went out to my balcony to make a snowman right away, but the snow was too powdery and couldn't make a snowman except this little guy.  All this snow melted away in the afternoon.

あ。。でも私が美顔術用に保存したものだけは冷凍庫に残っています。

Oh, except the one I saved in my freezer for my facial.

劇団森 Theatre Company MORI

日曜日は私もその一員である劇団森の公演の日でした。

Sunday was the performance day of the theatre company Mori which I am part of.

 私は恥ずかしがり屋でとても舞台に立って演技するなんて出来ませ〜ん！

I am too shy to go on stage to perform!

でも、劇団の一員として一緒に何かをするのは大好きなので、この度は照明と他の雑用。

But, I love being part of the theatre company and do something together, so I was in charge of lighting and other small jobs this time.

公演は大成功でとても良い評価を頂きました。次もあるかな？

The performance was a big success and we got very good reviews.  Would we have another?

17日間 17 Days

みなさんお久しぶりですー。前回のブログの投稿から１７日間。そのトップ３の理由は怠慢、病気、そして寒くて曇り空な天気。お日様のある青空と健康な身体を取り戻したーい！今日は曇りでちょっと雪がぱらつきました。
Long time no see, everyone.  It's been 17 days since I updated my blog the last.  Top three reasons for that are laziness, sickness and cold cloudy weather.  I want sunny blue sky and my healthy body back!  Today was cloudy and had a little bit of snow!

ここ１０日間ほど風邪(上咽頭炎)をひいていまして、いまだに咳と戦っております。早く良くなってほしいなー。テレビ見て寝てばかりでつまんない。。。
I've been sick from cold (acute nasopharyngitis) for the last ten days and still suffering from bad cough.  Hope I will get better soon!  I'be been watching TV and sleep and it's been so boring.
