昨日、めちゃお腹が痛くなって、すぐ近くのお医者さんに行ってきました。多分ウイルス性胃腸炎。 今日は少し良くなりましたけど、まだあまり食べられません。のんびり休んでいます。
さて、私がここで言いたかった事はですね。シンガポールとアメリカの医療事情比較です！アメリカにいた時は、毎月３５０ドル位払っていました。それでも、医者に行く度に、２０ドル。診療内容によっては、自己負担も沢山。今私達は保険料はいっさい払っていません。会社が全部払ってくれてます。主人は医者に行っても全て無料。家族は手術などの大きな問題の時以外は自己負担です。（ちなみに、ケビンの喉の手術の時は９０％以上保険からでました。）それで、昨日行ったお医者さん。診療とお薬全部含めて２５ドル。びっくりしました！安いでしょう！しかも、予約もいらないし、薬もその場で出してもらえるし、アメリカとは大違いです。あ、アメリカにいた時は沢山の紙にサインもしなくちゃいけませんでした。ここでは、名前、住所、身分証明、電話番号だけ聞かれただけでした。
Yesterday, I got severe pain in my stomach, so I went to see a doctor in our neighborhood. It was probably stomach flu. I feel a bit better today, but I still cannot eat much. It's OK, I am just relaxing and resting.
Here what I wanted to share is the comparison of medical situation in Singapore and USA. When we were in US, we used to pay over US$350 for insurance every month. And we still had to pay $20 co-pay at each visit. Depending on what kind of treatment we received, not all the expenses were covered, so we had to pay part of the expense. Now here in Singapore, we are not paying anything, instead the company is paying for the insurance for all the employee. The insurance covers everything for my husband when he goes to see any doctor, but for the family we have to pay for minor expenses and insurance pays for major surgery and etc. When Kevin had his surgery, insurance paid more than 90% of the expenses. When I went to see this doctor yesterday, I only paid S$25 for consultation and medicine all together. It was so cheap! And I didn't need to make an appointment. I received medicine in the clinic. It's so different from the medical situation in US. So much better here! Oh, I forgot to mention the number of papers I had to sign in US. Here, I just needed to give them my name, address, ID, and phone no.
Yes, Terry and I both lament the health care system in Singapore. I even miss my doctor - Dr. Maurice Chew at Beauty World.
ReplyDelete秋子さん、だいじょうぶ？シンガポールの医療制度は違うからね、。一般診療医（とりあえず、風邪から骨折まで何でも診る。問題があったら専門医を紹介してくれる）と日本で言う小児科、整形外科などの専門医がいて、専門医は、それなりに高いですね。後は、日本人の先生とか日本語を話す先生も高いですね。私も、近所の先生で好きな先生がいました。ただ、出す薬によってもかなり値段がちがったな。シンガポールの医療事情の好きなところは、女医さんが多いのもありました。
ReplyDeleteアメリカも昔はそうでした。私が働いていた９０年代から７，８年前まで、会社が医療費は全額払ってくれてたんですよ。特に医療関係の仕事だったので、その間のCTスキャン、MRI、専門医の診療、手術を２回、こんなに多くの治療をを受けていても自己負担は０でした。薬代だけでした。
ReplyDeleteでも今は医療保険が余りにも高いので加入していない人たちが何百万人といるそうです。大きな病気をしたら他の国へ行って治療するって言う人がけっこういます。
秋子さんたちは、もしものときは安心して医者にかかれるので安心ですよ。
ゆっくり休んでくださいね。食べれないといまいち元気でないですよね。こちらは季節の変わり目で我が家は、歳の順にかぜをひいてます。
