Got a fish!

We went first-time fishing for this summer. We fished from bridge using flies. We caught 7 fishes all together. Looking at the flow of river, waiting for a fish , the excitement of the moment when a fish bites a fly, and feeling the weight of the fish are the part of joy of fishing. BTW, we released all the fish.

This Juneberry tree is bearing a lot of fruits again this year. I picked a hand full of berries and put them all into my mouth. It was so juicy and sweet. Delicious!

。 In the midst of a city...

There was a tree with beautiful red blooms. I don't know what kind of tree this is. But surely it calmed my heart in the midst of a big city.

Love Asakusa

There are many interesting shops in Asakusa area. I used to live around here when I was a single and biked around to hunt for treasures. This time again, I found some interesting shops.

This is the favorite shop of all I found this time. This is a string shop. There are all sort of stings in different colors, sizes and forms everywhere in the shop. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to take a good look of everything there, but it was fortunate that money didn't fly away out of my wallet.

This is Daigakuimo(candied sweet potato) what I always eat when I come to Asakusa. Delicious!!

Concrete Jungle

Friends and I arranged to meet at Oazo in Marunouchi, Tokyo. Some trees were planted in between buildings. It was very soothing finding some greenery.

From Japan

Our first night in Japan was spent at this hotel right next to Narita Airport. The photo is the view from our hotel room.

Second day, today, boys went back to Matsumoto on a train just by themselves for the first time. I was a little nervous, but they were fine. Arrived at destination safely.

I stayed in Tokyo, met with my friend and enjoyed some herb tea and good conversation at a cafe in a hotel.

Sweet!

This year, we have a very good harvest of nectarines! They don't look very pretty, but they are very juicy and sweet. I feel grateful that I can just go out to my garden to pick and eat ripe fruits.

This is the almost-raisin. They almost taste like raisin. Sweet!

Chinese knotting

Last few weeks, I've been sharing my skill of Chinese knotting and making bracelets with friends. Each has chosen different color strings they like out of thirteen and has made beautiful bracelets. Their color choices are all so unique and very interesting to see how the same design could look so different depending on the colors of their choices.

Cooking class

A generous friend offered a cooking class at her home on Friday. First class was how to make a sweet rice with red bean(OSEKIHAN). I tried the recipe the very next day myself. I precooked red bean beforehand and the delicious OSEKIHAN was done in less than thirty minutes. This is my very first OSEKIHAN I've ever made. It was SO easy and I am so grateful for my friend showing me this very simple method. Now I am looking forward to the next cooking class!!!

Bracken

Monday was holiday. TK and I went for a drive to Palomar Mountain State Park. When we arrived at the Palomar Observatory, we got off our car and I found the field full of bracken ferns which seem just the right season to pick. Then, there TK found a sign written in Japanese and Korean that says,"Do not pick the ferns. Probably all the Japanese and Koreans who visit there must be thinking the same thing, "Oh, those bracken ferns look yummy."

If I picked them, I could have cooked them like this.
