ビーチの街、ダーバン Beach City, Durban

 ダーバンはとにかくビーチが綺麗です。

Durban's beaches are beautiful!

 前回行ったときにこういうバスケット２個も買いました。

Last time I visited Durban, I bought two of those baskets.

ダーバン Durban

We had snow in Munich on Monday, March 11th. 

11日の月曜日に雪が降ったミュンヘン。

火曜日に冬のミュンヘンから夏の南アフリカダーバンへ出発。

On Tuesday, we left Munich, a winter country for Durban, South Africa, a summer country.

 近所のモールはちょっとサンディエゴ雰囲気でした。

色んな種類のソーセージ。鹿とかダチョウとか他で見ないものもいっぱい。

Many varieties of sausages.  They had many we don't have like Kudu, Ostrich etc. 

このカフェとっても良かった。 This cafe was so nice.  

カプチーノ一杯180円くらい。

 １日目の晩御飯はラムカレーと

ポキ丼。鮭とアボガトとお野菜の乗ったお寿司。美味しかったよ。

Poke Bowl.  It had Salmon Sashimi, Avocado and Veggies.  It was delicious.

永久電池交換 Lifetime Battery Replacement

これ私のなんて事のない時計。8年ほど前に１万円位で買ったもの。ドイツに来た年に電池が切れたのでこのブランドSwatchのお店に電池交換に行ったら、何と無料で交換してくれて感動したんです。そして先週また電池が切れたので昨日お店に持って行ったらまた無料で交換。なんて優しいんだろうと思ってちょっと調べてみたら、何とSwatchって永久に電池を無料で交換してくれるんですと。知らなかったよー。すごいねーって感動してたら、旦那が、僕の時計は電池なくてもずっと動くって。。まあそりゃあそういう時計も近頃は沢山ありますけど。でも、なんか永久電池交換無料ってすごい！感動する。

This is my nothing-fancy regular watch.  I bought this about eight years ago for probably like 100 US dollars.  The first year we moved to Germany, the battery died, so I took it to this brand, Swatch shop for battery replacement.  Then, they replaced it for free.  I was so impressed by that service.  Then, again last week, the battery died.  So, I took it to the same store and they replaced the battery for free again!  I thought they are so generous.  But I came home and checked, then I found out that Swatch offers lifetime battery replacement.  Wow.  I didn't know.  I was so impressed and excited about it, then my husband said his watch never needs battery, yet keeps going.  Well, there are many watches like that nowadays, but I am still so excited and impressed by this lifetime battery replacement offer!

焼いた Baked

子供達が一緒に住んでいないので随分と長いことベーキングをしていませんでした。

 I didn't do much baking for a long time since children no longer live with us.

でも数週間前にどうしてもこのレモンケーキが食べたくなって焼きました。

But I had a craving for this lemon cake a few weeks ago, so I baked.

 手作りのレモンケーキがとても美味しくて。そしたら、今度はアップルケーキがどうしても食べたくなって焼きました。

Homemade lemon cake tasted so good.  Then I had a craving for apple cake, so I baked.

 どうせオーブンを使うなら他にも何かと思ったら、キッシュが食べたくなって。

If I were to use oven, I thought I should bake something else also.  Then, I had a craving for quiche.

 それで、マッシュルームキッシュを焼きました。とっても美味しかったよー。やっぱり何でもお店の物より手作りの物が好きだな。
Then, I baked mushroom quiche.  It was so good.  I like homemade baked goods much better than store bought after all.

心が暖かくなる Warm My Heart

こんな瞬間が心を暖かくしてくれます。お爺ちゃんとお孫ちゃん。可愛いねー。私も孫が欲しいなー！！
Such moment warms my heart.  Grandpa and grandson, they are both cute.  I want my grandkids!!!
