やっぱりクラフト大好き〜♡ Love Love Crafting ♡

今日はオールドタウンでクラフト教室に参加。もう超超メチャメチャ楽しかったぁー！！気がついたら４時間があっという間に過ぎていました。さて、何が仕上がるでしょうか?!
I went to Old Town to take a crafting class today.  I enjoyed it so soooooo much!!  The time went so fast that I didn't realize I was there over four hours!  Let's see what's this going to be?!

秋子のお誕生日 Akiko's Birthday

 本日は私の５１回目のお誕生日。今日も沢山の祝福に満たされた素晴らしい１日でした。

Today was my 51st birthday and it was another wonderful day filled with many blessings.

ケビンがお誕生日のランチをおごってくれました。

Kevin treated me to a birthday lunch.

 お友達がくれたお花が台所でとっても良い香を放っていて心を落ち着けてくれます。

The flower given by a friend is releasing wonderful fragrance in the kitchen and it calms my heart.

昨日はとっても新鮮なウニとホタテといくら丼ランチを御馳走になりました。超美味しかったです！
I was treated to this super fresh sea urchin, scallop and salmon roe over rice lunch yesterday.  It was super yummy!

皆さんお誕生日のお祝いの言葉をかけて下さってありがとうございました！

生け花教室へ To the IKEBANA Lesson

 生け花教室に行ってきました。

I took a IKEBANA(Japanese flower arrangement) lesson today.

 秋をイメージしたアレンジです。

This arrangement expresses Autumn.

 生け花教室なんて、人生でこれが７回目くらい。とぉーっても楽しかったです。

This might be the 7th Ikebana lesson in life.  I truly enjoyed the lesson.

同じお花を使って違うアレンジにしてみました。勿論先生がお直ししてくれてますー！

I used the same flowers and arranged in different style.  FYI, the arrangement was fixed up by the instructor at the end :-D

台所ながら運動 Kitchen Workout

お友達からサイドステッパーなる運動器具を頂きました。お友達よ、ありがとう!

This exercise machine, Side Stepper was given to me by a friend.  Thank you, dear friend!

無駄になりかねないこのたぐいの器具。その時に浮かんだアイデアがこのながら運動。我が家のキッチンカウンターは私には少し高いので、これに乗ったら丁度いいです。

This kind of machine would end up in the closet very quickly, so I came up with this wonderful idea, Kitchen Workout.  As my kitchen counter is slightly too high for me, this machine gives me the extra height I need.

秋ですねー。Autumn Has Come.

 テメキュラに秋が来ました。

Finally, autumn is here in Temecula.

 朝８時位に外を歩くと熱気球が沢山見られます。

When I go outside for a walk around 8am, I can see many hot air balloons.

今日は布団やシーツを外に干しました。お日様にあたった布団やシーツはとっても良い匂い。
I hung sheets and blankets outside to dry today.  The sun-dried blankets and sheets smell so good!

味噌 Miso

これらの材料を使って味噌を仕込んだのが、４月の１０日。

It was April 10th when I mixed all these ingredients together and packed to make Miso.

その時の味噌はまだ発酵が始まっていなかったので明るい色。

The miso at that time hadn't started fermentation, so its color was light.

６ヶ月経った今は発酵が進んで味噌の色は深い茶色になりました。とっても良い香りがして、味は赤味噌に近い感じに仕上がりました。

After six months, the Miso now has been well fermented and its color turned into rich dark brown.  It has really nice aroma and very rich nice taste.  

ほんのちょっぴり溜まりもとれました。

A tiny bit of Tamari was produced, too.

皆既月食２ Blood Moon

皆さんも御覧になりましたか？皆既月食！私は前回に続き今年２回目の月食を見ました。

Did you see the total lunar eclipse?  I watched the second eclipse of this year just as I did the first one.

 私は３時に目覚ましをかけていたのですが、なぜか今朝１時半には目が覚めてしまいました。そして、朝の５時までずーーっとお月さまを眺めていました。
I set an alarm at 3am to see the Blood Moon, but I woke up at 1:30am this morning and watched the moon eclipsed until 5:00am this morning.

それはとおーーーっても綺麗でした。でも、テメキュラの外の気温は１４度と寒かった。
It was soooooo beautiful, but the temperature outside in Temecula was 57F and cold.

テメキュラ屋外キルトショー Temecula Outdoor Quilt Show

今日は年に一度のテメキュラアウトドアキルトショーでした。オールドタウンのあちこちに綺麗なキルトが飾られていました。どうぞ写真をお楽しみ下さい。
Today was the annual Temecula Outdoor Quilt Show.  Beautiful quilts were displayed all over the Old Town of Temecula.  Please enjoy the pictures.

この季節を表現した作品は本当に綺麗に作られていました。

なんと！ Oh No!

京都の理輝から今朝ラインメッセージが。。。「絶対おかしいでしょう」と。。添付されていたのはこの下の写真。

I got a text message from Riki in Kyoto this morning saying, "something is definitely wrong."  Attached was the following picture.

私。。理輝がテメキュラを発つ前に、彼のTシャツを直してあげたんですが、針をシャツに付けっぱなしにしたようです。針は空港でのセキュリティーチェックを逃れたようですね。そして理輝がTシャツを着ようとした時、彼に刺さらなかったようですね。。多分。。本当に最近物忘れがひどくてビックリしちゃいます。

I mended Riki's T-shirts before he left Temecula and I left the needle on the T-shirt!  I guess this needle escaped the security check at the airport and I guess and hope it didn't hurt Riki when he tried to put the T-shirt on.  I cannot believe how forgetful I am becoming.

啓安ロスへ帰る。Joshua Returned to L.A.

日曜日に啓安をロサンゼルスのアパートへ送って来ました。今学期から彼は大学四年生。６月には卒業です。あまりに時の過ぎるのが早くって信じられない！
We took Joshua back to his apartment in Los Angeles.  He is starting his senior year this semester and will be graduating in June.  I cannot believe how fast time flies!

彼をアパートで降ろす前に、鼎泰豐（小龍包が有名な台湾料理のお店）でたっぷり美味しい物を食べさせてあげました。
We fed him a lot of yummy food at Din Tai Fung (Taiwanese restaurant famous for juicy pork dumpling) before we dropped him off at his apartment.

家族が３人になってしまった。。。寂しい。。。

We are now down to three of us.  We feel sad.
