出発＆到着 Departure & Arrival

朝８時４５分位に実家の家を出て松本駅からあずさで出発。午後２時位にリムジンでテメキュラの家に到着。所要時間約２１時間。お尻が痛い！
We left my parents' house around 8:45am and departed from Matsumoto station on the express train "Azusa." We arrived home in Temecula around 2:00pm in a black limousine. 21 hours of traveling time!! My bum's in pain!

粘度とガムと荷造り Play dough & Gum & Packing

また雨。湿気がすごい。いよいよ明日はアメリカに帰国。荷造りは終わり。
Rain again... Humidity is so high. We are going back to the states tomorrow. Packing is done.

粘度遊びをしてみた。We played with the play dough.

疲れたし、つまらないからちょっと子供達の舌に色を付けてみた。は、は、は。。。なかなかおかしな写真が撮れた！　（きわめて安全な色つきガムです。）
Then, I was tired and a bit bored, so I just put some colors on kids tongues. Ha, ha, haaa..... I got a pretty funny picture! (It's quite safe gums with strong food coloring.)

あづみの公園 Azumino Park

今日たけちゃんと私は子供達６人とあづみの公園へ。。色んな遊びをいっぱいしてきました。お腹ぺこぺこになって、ラーメン屋に直行。楽しい一日だった。
T.K. and I went to Azumino Park with six kids. We played all sort of stuff. We got SO hungry and went straight to the Ramen(noodle) shop. What a fun day it was!

また犬でごめ〜ん。Sorry..a dog again..

また新しいワンちゃんが生まれました。とても可愛い色なんだよ。
Another new doggy was created. In very cute color.

日本の実家での生活もあと３日間だけ。。何しようか？
We only got 3 more days left here in Japan. What shall we do?!

名前 Names

ひよこさん達の名前が決まりました。チョコちゃんとバナナちゃん。見たらどちらがどちらの名前か想像がつくかと思いますが。。
Kids finalized the names for the chicks. They are "Choco" and "Banana." I assume you can guess which one is which when you look at them.

水を飲む度にこうして上をむくんだよ。
Evey time they drink some water, they look up like this.
めちゃかわいい。SO CUTE!

住人(鶏） Resident

やって来たやって来た！！ずっと待ってた住人がやっとやって来た。二羽の可愛いひよこちゃんたち。まだあのお家は大きすぎるからしばらくは箱の中で。。。
They're here! They're here!! The long awaited residents had finally come. Two adorable chicks!! The house is still too big for them, so they will be living in a box for a while.....

皆既日食 Solar Eclipse

夕べは雨が降っていて、日食が見れないんじゃないかと心配しましたが、朝方に雨はあがり、日本で46年ぶりの皆既日食を(長野では100%ではありませんでしたが。）見る事が出来てとても嬉しかったです。雲が多くてお日様は時折雲の中に入ったりでたり。。。でも素晴らしかった。

It was raining last night and I was afraid that we may not be able to see the eclipse today. Thank God, the rain was gone by the morning and I was so happy to be able to witness the total solar eclipse in 46 years in Japan(not quite 100% eclipse in Nagano). We had much clouds and the sun went in and out of them......but it was WONDERful.

ピアノ発表会 Piano Recital

ひかるちゃん（１年生）　　Hikaru (1st grade)

今日は姪のあかねちゃん、ひかるちゃんのピアノ発表会でした。とっても上手に弾けました！！私も幼稚園から中学までピアノ習ってたのよね。。。発表会の時は可愛い洋服を買ってもらえるのが嬉しかったような憶えがあるな〜〜。二人とも頑張ったね！
Today was my nieces, Akane and Hikaru's piano recital. They played very well! I used to take piano lessons since preschool till middle school. I remember I was very happy that my mom would buy me a new cute clothes for the recital. Great job, both of you!!

穴ほり Dig a hole

今朝は皆で穴掘り。土が堅くて大変だったけどみんな協力していい穴が掘れました。何の為かって言うと。。
We digged a hole this morning. The soil was hard and the job was tough, but kids worked together well and made a nice big hole. What's this hole for?

今までのコンポスターの穴が生ゴミでいっぱいになってしまったので、新しい穴に移動設置する為でした。臭かったぞぉ〜〜〜！！
It was for moving and setting up the composter bin at the new location since the old hole was totally filled up with the kitchen waste. Phew~~~ it was STINKY!!!

お泊まり Sleepover

ケビンのいとこのあかねちゃんが今日はお泊まり。といっても３０歩位でついちゃうくらい近いお隣からきたんですけど。。。楽しいね！
Kevin's cousin, Akane came to sleepover today. Well, she lives right next door only about 30 steps away..... Fun to sleepover!!

そうそう、やっとたけちゃんも実家につきました。まだ完全休暇とまではなってませんが。。。。
Oh, T.K. finally joined us here in Japan. He is not quite on vacation yet ......

成分献血 A apheresis donation

昨日初めて成分献血なるものをしました。今回私がしたのは血漿。問診やら登録やら含めて１時間くらいで終わりました。帰りにいくつかあったお礼の品（カップラーメン、洗剤、絆創膏、などなど）の中からペンをもらって帰りました。終わった後も体調良好！
I went to an apheresis donation yesterday for the first time. What I donated was platelets. It took about an hour including registration and health exam. There were some gifts that you can choose to take home. I chose a pen out of cup noodles, laundry detergent, bandage and so on.... I felt totally fine after the donation.

働き者達 Hard Working Boys

年々子供達も成長に従って、出来る作業も増えてきました。トラクター、剪定、そしていつもの玉ねぎ作業。えらい！
Each year as kids grow, there are more works they can do. Handling tractor, trimming the trees and annual farmwork-packaging onions. Great job!

さらに小さく Even smaller

モヘアのワンちゃん。今回はさらに小さく編んでみました。これがまためちゃ可愛い！！！もうこれが限界の小ささでしょう。。。
Mohair dog... I made it even smaller this time. It's just SO adorable!!! I don't think I can go smaller than this....

回転寿し Sushi-go-round

ケビンがずっと行きたがっていた「くら寿司」。昨日やっと皆で行ってきました。何が特別かって言うと。。。食べた後のお皿５枚で１回おまけをもらえるチャンスが！結局昨日は皆で５５皿食べ１１回のチャンスのうち当たったのは１回。企業戦略にまんまと乗っていつも以上に食べた私たちでした。。。
Kevin has been wanting to go to "Kura Sushi" and we finally went there yesterday. What is special about this place? You get a chance to win a prize every five plates you finish. We finished 55 plates all together and got only 1 prize out of 11 chances. We were totally caught by this business strategy and ate more than we normally do.

初もも First peach of this season

隣のおじちゃんちの桃がいよいよ収穫時期を迎え、我が家にも分けてくれました。とっても甘くてジューシーで美味しい！
Next door uncle's peaches are ready to harvest and he shared them with us. They were very sweet, juicy and delicious!

四苦八苦 Struggling

100円ショップで可愛いモヘアの糸を発見。これで犬を編んだら可愛いだろうなと思ったのが全ての始まり。
It all started at the $1-shop when I foudn this very cute mohair yarn and thought this would make a really cute dog.



編み目はわからないし、ほどくのも大変。。でも完成したワンちゃんは確かに可愛い！
I struggled to count the stiches and undone the stitches. But surely the dog I finished is adorable!

麻雀 Mahjong

中国の家に行った時、使い方もわからず遊んでいた麻雀。子供達は今回初めて遊び方を教わりました。。おもしろそう。。。私も教わろうか？でも新しい事を覚えるキャパが私の脳には今ない。。夏休み中だ。。。
When we visited our house in China, boys used to play with the Mahjong set without knowing how. They finally learned proper way of playing it..... it seems interesting. Should I learn it, too? But I am not capable of learning anything new for now, my brain is on summer vacation!!
