赤紫蘇 Red Basil/Perilla

ベトナム食材店で赤紫蘇を見つけて大興奮。店主の奥様に貴女は日本人かと聞かれました。彼女いわく、この葉っぱを好きなのはベトナム人と日本人だって。その通り！私これ大好きです。
 I was so excited to find this red basil also called Perilla at a Vietnamese grocery store.  The shop owner asked me if I was a Japanese.  She said it's only Vietnamese and Japanese who loves this kind of plant.  She is right.  I love this plant.

赤紫蘇の塩酢漬けを作りました。美味しい!

I pickled the red basil in salt and vinegar.  It's so yummy!
