可愛い猫 Cute Cat

 お友達からこんな可愛らしい猫を頂きました。

A friend gave me such a cute cat.

 猫ちゃん背中に何やらしょっています。

This cat is carrying something on her back.

 ３日目、何かが芽を出した。

On the third day, something started to sprout.

５日後にはこんなに伸びて来た。なんて可愛い猫ちゃんとクローバーでしょう！

After five days, they are growing taller.  What a cute cat and clover!

トマトと薩摩芋の葉っぱ Tomato & Potato Leaves

これが日本に行っている間２ヶ月ほって置かれた私の野菜畑。

This is my vegetable garden being left alone for two months while I was in Japan.

なんとトマトがとっても元気に育っていました。このプチトマトはとっても可愛い。

To my surprise, tomatoes were growing well.  These mini tomatoes look so cute.

それから、食用の薩摩芋の葉っぱも元気に育っていました。これは炒めて食べるととっても美味しいんです。
And the potato leaves for cooking were growing very well too.  These taste really good when stir fried with garlic.

理輝は何処？Where Is Riki?

理輝は今北京にある北京大学で中国語を勉強しています。見つけられるかな？

Riki is now in Beijing studying Chinese at Peking University.  Can you spot him?

北京と言えば、そりゃあ北京ダックですよね〜！羨ましい。。。

If you are in Beijing, you've got to have Peking Duck!  I am jealous...

北京についてから数日後喉が痛くなって来たらしい。きっと質の悪い空気のせい。だからマスク着用。天津での爆発の影響もあるかな？

A few days after arriving in Beijing, it seems that his throat started to hurt.  It must be the poor air quality, so he started wearing a facial mask.  I wondered if the explosion in Tianjin had any effect.

色々と食べてますねー！

Eating variety of food~!

買い物や観光も！あれ？この旅って語学研修だよね？(>_<)

Shopping and sightseeing, too!  Hmm??  Isn't this a language study program? (>_<)

帰ってきました。We Are Back.

 丁度一週間前に日本から帰って着ました。ロサンゼル空港に着いたその日、大きな青空に飛行機で書かれた文字が見えました。

We came back from Japan exactly a week ago.  The day we arrived at LAX, we saw these big letters in the big blue sky written by a plane.

典型的なロスの渋滞に歓迎されてしまった〜(^_^;;

Welcomed by the typical L.A. traffic! (^O^)

スイカのクッキー。。食べ物の色がめっちゃカラフルなのもアメリカに帰って来たなーって感じる一つ。着色料使い過ぎ！(>_<)
Watermelon cookies....  One of the reasons makes me feel that I am in deed back in USA is these colorful food.  Overuse of food coloring!  (>_<)

時差ぼけもなく元気に活動してまーす！！ロスに来ていたお友達とゲティ美術館へ行きました。
I got no jet lag and am staying very active!  I went to Getty Museum with a friend who was visiting L.A.

ワイナリーにテイスティングにも行きました。そこのワイナリーでは今週からワイン用葡萄の収穫を始めたそうです。

I also went to a winery with a friend for wine tasting.  They told me that they have started harvesting wine grapes this week.

タイダイ Tie Dye

初めてタイダイやってみました。

My first time trying tie dye.

これは姪っ子のひかるちゃんの。 This is my niece, Hikaru's.

 これは私と弟の。Those are mine and my brother's.

 これは姪っ子のあかねちゃんの。This is my niece, Akane's.

 どれもこれもどんな風に仕上がるのかなー。

We all wondered how everything would turn out.

ひかるちゃんのTシャツが一番可愛いかなー。

I think Hikaru's T-shirt looks the best.

染めた後の洗いはちと大変でしたが、タイダイは楽しかったです。

The washing after dying was a bit troublesome, but it was fun doing tie dye.

ネックカバー Neck Cover

これは100均ショップで買ったネックカバー。モデルは姪のひかるさんにお願いしました♡
This is a neck cover I bought from a dollar shop.  My niece, Hikaru volunteered to model♡

 この商品、ネックカバーの他にも沢山の使い方が出来るんですよ。こちらはヘアバンドとして。。
This product could be used in so many other ways besides using as a neck cover.  Here is as a hair band.

アレルギーの季節やスキーの季節にマスクとして。

During allergy or ski season,  as a face mask.

耳カバーとして。（イスラム教の女性の頭カバーみたい。）

As a ear cover. (looks like a islam lady's head covering as well)

 帽子として。As a cap.

 冬場の顔頭カバーとして。（決して身を隠すためではありません。）

As a full face cover during winter. (definitely not to hide one's identity)

髪全体を隠してお料理。

Covering entire hair during cooking.
