お花畑 Flower Fields

 見てください、この美しいお花畑！とっても綺麗でしょー！

Look at this beautiful flower field!  Isn't this gorgeous?!

 昨日はお友達のお母様と妹さんでカールスバッドのお花畑に行って来ました。

My friend's mom, sister and I went to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad yesterday.

 青空と色とりどりのお花がそれは綺麗でした。

The blue sky and the flowers in many colors were so beautiful.

 空と建物の間に見える暗い層は太平洋ですよ。

The dark layer you see in between the sky and the buildings is the Pacific Ocean.

多肉植物も可愛い。

The succulents are cute!

 このカラフルな茸も可愛いね。

These colorful mushrooms are cute!

 このカラフルな魚も良い！

I liked this colorful fish!

この大きなトカゲは大嫌い。

I hated this big lizard.

ハート完成 The Heart Is Completed

クラフト第２弾のハートが完成しました。今回は刺繍が沢山で肩こりましたが、綺麗な出来上がりにとっても満足です！

The Craft Part 2, the Heart is completed.  There were so many embroideries to do this time that gave me sore shoulders, but I am quite pleased with the beautiful finish.  

ヨーグルト酵母 Yogurt Yeast

こちらは、ヨーグルト酵母で作ったパンです。ヨーグルトの酵母はフルーツ酵母よりも作るのが凄く簡単。ヨーグルトと小麦粉と砂糖少しを混ぜて、ブクブクしてくるまで暖かい所に置くだけ。もしも作ってみたい方がいたら連絡下さーい。レシピを載せます。

Here is the bread made with the yogurt yeast.  Yogurt yeast is much easier to make than the fruit yeast.  You just need to mix yogurt, flour and some sugar and keep it in a warm place until it starts to bubble.  If you want to try, let me know.  I will post the recipe.

多肉植物園回り Visiting Succulent Gardens

テメキュラの今の天気はとっても心地よいですー。出かけなくちゃもったいない！で、友達と一緒に多肉植物園めぐり。

The weather in Temecula is so comfortable now and there is no reason why not to go out, so I went along with a friend to visit succulent gardens.

可愛いアレンジを見てたら庭仕事をする気が湧いて来たー！

Looking at pretty arrangements inspired me to do more gardening!

これなんだか良くわかんないけど、気に入った。これ見てると笑いたくなるし、気楽にいこうぜーって気になるー。
I don't know what this is, but I somehow liked this guy.  It makes me laugh and reminds me to take it easy.

クラフトクラス第２弾 The Second Craft Class

こちらは２回目、２月のオールドタウンでのクラフトクラスの課題。今回はいくつかの刺繍のテクニックを教わりました。まだここまでしか終わってないー！なのに、明日１２日、３月のクラスに参加するのだ(>_<)　早く終わらせなくっちゃ！
This is the second, February assignment from the craft class in Old Town.  We learned different embroidery techniques.  I only have done this much so far and am attending another class tomorrow, 12th for the March class (>_<)  I need to hurry up and finish this one!!

啓安２２歳 Joshua Is 22

我が家の長男啓安が昨日３月８日で２２歳になりました。本当にあっという間に成長していってしまう。。。それだけあっと言う間に私は老いているって事だよな〜(*_*;;
Our firstborn son, Joshua just turned 22 yesterday, March 8th.  Kids are growing up so fast and I guess we are aging as fast ..... (*_*;;

こんなに小さくて可愛かった〜！

ひょう Hail

先週末から月曜日までずっと雨でした。そして、月曜日庭を見ると白い物を発見。雪が降ったのかと思ったら、ひょうでした。ビックリ！
We had rain over the weekend and until Monday.  On Monday, I found something white in my backyard.  For a moment, I thought it was snow, but it was hail.  What a surprise!

家の近所から雪をかぶった山々が見えて、実家の長野を思い出します。この景色がとっても好きな私です！
I could see snow capped mountains from my neighborhood and it reminds me of my hometown, Nagano.  I love this scenery.

雄飛杯 Yuhihai

昨日は雄飛杯、UCLAでの剣道大会でした。

Yesterday was Yuhihai, Kendo tournament at UCLA.  

カリフォルニア州の沢山の大学の剣道部が参加しました。

Many Kendo clubs from universities in California participated.

啓安、戦いの準備オッケー。

Joshua was ready to fight.

啓安は白のリボンを付けています。Joshua was wearing a white ribbon.

 一本決まったか？ Did he get a point?

啓安はUCLAのチームキャプテン。彼のチームは準優勝でした。良くやった！

He was the UCLA team captain.  His team won the second place.  Great job!

啓安は試合後チームと出かけたので、たけちゃんとケビンと私は、勝利者本人なしでチームの勝利を中華で祝いました。美味しかった！

Joshua went out with his team mates, so T.K., Kevin and I celebrated his victory at a Chinese restaurant without the winner.
