週末旅行 Weekend Trip

週末旅行に行って来ました。さて、ここはどこでしょう？

We took a trip last weekend.  Guess where this is?

次期アメリカ大統領候補所有のこちらのホテルに滞在。

We stayed at this hotel owned by a candidate for the next US president.

ラスベガスに来たら、ショーを見なくちゃでしょう。ということで、Le Vere-The Dreamというショーを見ました。とにかく、素晴らしいショーでした。

When you are in Las Vegas, you must see a show.  We watched "Le Vere - The Dream."  It was simply amazing.

あらま。。ホテルの前で火山が噴火?!べガスには色んな無料アトラクションがあります。

Oh, no, a volcano eruption in front of a hotel?!  There are many free attractions in Vegas.

外は結構寒かったですー！火山の炎は暖かくてつかの間暖まったー。

Outside was quite cold!  We enjoyed a moment of heat from the fire from volcano.

White Castleというバーガーショップで初めて食べてみた。

My first time eating at White Castle.

 バーガー１０個注文。 We ordered 10 burgers.

でも実はこのバーガー小さいんです。とっても美味しくって気に入りました。

These burgers are actually very small.  They were delicious and I liked them.

ラスベガスのダウンタウンから車で３０も行ったらこんな美しい場所も。

There is also such a beautiful place in Las Vegas only 30 min. away from downtown.

レッドロックキャニオンと言います。

It's called Red Rock Canyon.

ちょっと良ーーく見てください。ロッククライミングをしている人達が大勢いたんです。私もしてみたかったなー。でもそれ以前に筋力トレーニングしないと。。。

Please take a very good look of this picture.  There were so many people there doing rock climbing.  I wished I was able to try, but I probably should build strong muscles first..

そして、こちらが 車好きな人なら知っているかも？Shelby Museum.

Then, there is this museum car enthusiasts' might know, Shelby Museum.

かっこいい車が沢山。Many cool cars.

そしてこちらの Fremont Street Experienceも結構良かったです。

This Fremont Street Experience was cool.

ショッピングアーケードの天井のライトショーは凄く良かったです。

The light show in this shopping arcade was very good.

姪の結婚式 Niece's Wedding

今日は姪の結婚式でした。私には4人の姪と一人の甥がいますが、彼女はその中で一番歳上です。式の終わりに彼女が読んだ両親へのメッセージはとても感動的で思わず涙。とっても美しくて心温まる結婚式でした。

Today was my niece's wedding. I have four nieces and one nephew. She is the oldest among all. The message she read to her parents towards the end of the ceremony was very touching and made me cry. It was very beautiful and heartwarming wedding.

一人旅 Traveling Alone

日本へ子供無しで一人で帰るのはきっと20年ぶり。写真では嬉しそうに見えるけど心の中はちょっぴり寂しい。

The last time traveling alone to Japan without kids probably was over twenty years ago.  I look happy in the picture, but I was feeling a bit lonely inside. 

東京到着。超満員電車で仕事に行ってた頃を思い出す。

Arrived in Tokyo.  Remembering the days I used to commute to work in fully packed trains. 

こんな時はいつも息子達がスーツケースを持って階段を上がってくれたのに。 重い。。

It was always boys who climbed stairs carrying suitcases. ....   so heavy.....

実家の生坂村に戻りました。理輝や姪っ子と楽しい時間。

Back in Ikusaka village, my hometown. Spending time with Riki and my niece.

灰お焼きは美味しい！ Love this special food baked in hot ashes. 

父の作ったこのキウイは中が赤。とーーっても甘くって美味しい！

Inside of these kiwis my father grew were red.  They were very sweet and tasty. 

外に出たら母の畑から晩ご飯の野菜が採れるなんてナイス。

It's so nice to be able to just go outside and pick vegetables for dinner from my mom's field. 

手前は大根、その後ろはネギ。Front are Daikon radishes and behind is green onions. 

ゴボウを掘ってる。Digging up burdock roots.

１２月だ！It's December!

先週木曜日はサンクスギビングでした。私達はアリゾナのお友達に会いに行きました。写真は一緒に作ったお食事。食事はどれも美味しかったですー！

Last Thursday was Thanksgiving.  We went to visit friends in Arizona.  This photo is the dinner we made together.  The food was all delicious.

ターキーはアジアンスタイルで焼いてみました。お腹の中に入れたご飯がとっても美味しかったです。私は伝統的なスタッフィング（詰め物）よりもこの方がずっと好きです。

We baked a turkey Asian style.  The rice inside the turkey cavity tasted very good.  I liked it much better than the traditional stuffing.

翌日は、プロのバスケットボールの試合を見に行きました。

The next day, we went to watch a professional basketball game.

Suns vs Warriorsの試合でした。Warriors は現在全米で一番強いチームです。

It was Suns vs Warriors game.  Warriors is the number one team in America now.

Stephen Curryと言う選手がとにかく上手かった！結果はWarriorsが勝ちました。

Stephen Curry was just so good!  Warriors won the game.

洋梨のアップサイドダウンケーキ Pear Upside-Down Cake

 久しぶりにベーキングをしましたー。サンクスギビングの為のデザートです。
I haven't done much baking for a while, but today I made desserts for Thanksgiving dinner.

庭にもうこんな可愛いクリスマスの飾りをしているお家がありました。早いね。。
This house already had this cute Christmas decorations in the front yard.  So early!

ディズニーランドリゾート60周年 Disneyland Resort 60th Anniversary

女友達と今年６０周年記念をお祝いしているカリフォルニアディズニーランドリゾートへ行って来ました。こちらはディズニーランド。

Girl friends and I visited California Disneyland Resort where they were celebrating 60th anniversary this year. This is Disneyland.

こちらはお隣にあるデイズニーカリフォルニアアドベンチャー。

This is Disney California Adventure located right next to Disneyland.

 ユニークなクリスマスツリーが沢山ありました。

We found many unique Christmas trees.

これらは映画カーズの テーマのツリー。

These trees were decorated in the theme of movie, "Cars."

夜は点灯されたクリスマスツリーがとっても綺麗でした。

The lighted-up Christmas trees were beautiful.

ディズニーキャラクターは皆んなクリスマスの衣装でお出まし。

Disney characters appeared in Christmas costumes.  

カリフォルニアアドベンチャーでの噴水のショーはとっても綺麗で大好き。

The fountain show at California Adventure was beautiful and I loved it.

噴水のショーの後は、ディズニーランドへ戻りエレクトリカルパレード。

After the fountain show, we went back to Disneyland to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade.

.一日の締めくくりは花火。本当に素晴らしかったです。

We ended the day with fireworks.  It was amazing.

家に着いたのは魔法がとけてしまう真夜中１２時ギリギリでした。
I arrived home just before midnight, before the magic spell would be broken.
