初物 First of the Season

ある物を探しに畑へ。。

I went out to look for a particular thing.

そろそろ収穫できるはず。。。

It should be ready for a harvest.

あったあった！

Yes, it's there!

まだ小さいけど。。。

It's still small....

これが探していた物です。

This is what I was looking for.

「ミョウガ」です。今日はそうめんと一緒にいただきました。

This is Myoga.  We had it with Somen noodle.

実家では色んな野菜や果物を作っています。

My parents are growing various varieties of fruits and vegetables.

子供、母に敬服! Kids were Impressed!

こちらは「蛾」　This is a moth.

こちらは「蜘蛛」This is a spider.

こちらは「蛾」を素手で捕まえて子供を敬服させた「母」
This is the mother who impressed the kids by catching a moth with bare hands.

さすがに蜘蛛はティシューを使用いたしました。
For catching a spider, I had to use a tissue.

スワロフスキービーズ Swarovski Beads

ラップブレスレットをお友達から頂いたスワロのビーズで作ってみました。やっぱりスワロはキラキラ美しく輝きますね！！

I made wrap bracelets with the Swarovski beads given by my friend. Swarovski beads does sparkle so beautifully indeed!!

ブドウ園 Grape Farm

昨日は姉の家のブドウ畑で農作業のお手伝い。

We helped my sister in her vineyard yesterday.

こちらはデラウェアという品種。旬になると紫になります。

This is Delaware grapes.  They will turn purple in season.

働き者 (^O^)！

A hard working lady (^O^)  !!

大阪 Osaka

京都訪問の際に、大阪へも一日行って来ました。

During our visit to Kyoto, we took a day trip to Osaka. 

串揚げ、たこ焼き、ネギ焼き、デザート、どれも美味しくってハッピー！

Kushiage, Takoyaki, Negiyaki and sweets, they were all very good and we were happy!

漫才も見てきましたー。結構面白かったです！

We watched a stand-up comedy show and had a good laugh. 

大阪の街灯、とっても可愛い！

The street lights in Osaka were so cute!

アジサイ Hydrangea

今日本はアジサイの季節。羽田空港でも紫陽花が美しく飾られていました。

Hydrangeas are in season now in Japan. They were beautifully displayed at the Haneda Airport.  

こちらは弟の家の前庭に咲いている大きくてまん丸くて真っ白い紫陽花。美しい。

This large round pure white hydrangea is blooming in front of my brother's house.  Beautiful!

この白いふちの緑の葉っぱが紫の紫陽花を引き立ててる感じ。美しい。

The green leaves with white boarder makes purple hydrangea look prettier.  Beautiful!

こちらは信州プレミアム牛肉。この牛ちゃん達リンゴを食べているらしい。信州はリンゴで有名ですからね。

This is Shinshu(another name for Nagano prefecture) Premium Beef.    I think these cows are fed apples.  Shinshu is famous for its apples.  

この柔らかくて美味しい牛肉は、とっても素晴らしいうまみと甘さがありました。

This tender and delicious beef had wonderful flavor and some sweetness.   

京都で。in Kyoto

京都にある大学で勉強中の理輝に会いに行って来ました。

We went to see Riki who is studying at a university in Kyoto. 

京都は美味しいお店がたくさんあります。こちらはお豆腐屋さんのランチ。

Kyoto has many good restaurants. This is the lunch at a TOFU restaurant. 

うなぎー！ Eel!

濃厚鶏ラーメン。Very thick chicken soup Ramen.

京都は美しい場所がたっくさん！

 Kyoto has so many beautiful places to visit.

機内食 In-flight Meal

普通の機内食に飽きたので、香港から日本へのフライトで、ヒンドゥー食を頼んでみました。

I was getting boarded with a regular in-flight meal, so I requested Hindu meal on the flight from Hong Kong to Japan. 

私はヒンドゥー教徒ではないのですが、インド料理が食べられるかなと思って頼んでみました。このアイデア大成功。暖かいナンとキュウリヨーグルトディップにご飯と3種類のカレー、そして果物。美味しかったですー！！次もこれにしようかな！(^_^) そうそう、右上の水、ヒンドゥー教徒の人達は右の手で食事をとるのだと思うので、多分その手を洗うための物だったのでしょうね。そうとは知らず口にしたら、めっちゃマズイ畿内の水道水でした。(^^;;

I am not a Hindu, but I requested a Hindu meal thinking maybe I can eat Indian food. This idea was a very good one. I had some warm naan breads served with cucumber yogurt dip, three different kind of curry with rice and some fruit. They were delicious!  I might request this meal again on the next flight. Oh, BTY, a cup of water on the right top corner was to probably to wash hands as Hindu people use their right hands to eat. I didn't realize that at first and I brought that water to my mouth.  It tasted horrible and had to spit out. It was probably tap water. (^^;;

亀ゼリー Turtle Jelly

今日もとっても暑い日でした。そんな時には、こちらの亀ゼリーを頂くのが最高です！

Today was another very hot day.  During a hot day like this, eating this turtle jelly is the best!
