昨日は、ちょっとチャイナタウンへお土産を買いに出かけました。やっぱりここは面白い。実家の母のようなおばちゃん達向けデザインも豊富。
I went to look for some souvenirs in Chinatown yesterday. That place is indeed very interesting. Here are the varieties for auntie fashions like my mom.
このパジャマの安い事！
Those pajamas are really cheap!
こちらは女の子のドレス。ちょっと私の好みではないですけど。面白い。
Those are girls' dresses. They are not my taste, but very unique.
この辺は古い建物が沢山あります。色が綺麗。
There are still many old building in that area. Beautiful colors.
そして、こちらは見ての通り、漢方薬屋さん。今度私も漢方医に行ってみようかな。
And here is the herbal medicine shop. Maybe I should try going to see a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor.
５月７日に蒔いた種。モロヘイヤは元気に芽を出したのですが、他の２つは結局芽を出しませんでした。
The seeds I planted on May 7, Mulukhiyah did very well, but other two didn't sprout at all in the end.
こちらはモロヘイヤ。最初は沢山あったんですが、今は少しだけ。しかも弱々しい。。どうしたら良いのかわかりませんけど。。この次は、直接畑に蒔かないで、小さな入れ物でやってみましょうかと思います。
And here is the Mulukhiyah. There were so many at first, now only few left and they don't look very strong. I don't know what to do, but maybe I must take different approach to grow those veggies. Maybe, I will try planting seeds in small containers first instead of seeding in the garden.
台湾に住んでいた時に毎週末食べていた水煎包がすごく食べたくなって、じゃあ家族皆で作ろうと言う事になりました。
I had a craving for "Shui Jian Pao/Friend Buns" which we used to eat every weekends when we were living in Taiwan. We said, "well, let's make them together."
ケビンが粉を捏ねて。理輝が野菜を刻んで。お父さんが具を混ぜて。私が具を包みました。
Kevin knead the dough. Riki chopped vegetables. Daddy mixed the filling. I wrapped them.
とーーっても美味しかったです。満足満足。
They were sooooooo good. My craving was satisfied.
土曜日の朝にインターナショナルバプテスト教会でのお茶会に招かれて行って来ました。それぞれのテーブルがそのテーブルのお世話役さんの手によってとても綺麗に飾られていました。どれもとっても美しかったー！どうぞそれぞれのテーブルのセッティングをお楽しみ下さい。
I was invited to a tea party on Saturday morning at International Baptist Church. Each table was decorated by the host of its table. They were all so beautiful. Enjoy all the pictures of different table settings.

ウォーキングの途中にいつも立ち寄る近所のマーケットでは、色んなものが売っています。今日のお買い得はこちら、アメリカのブランド「バナナリパブリック」のシャツが18シンガポールドル（1,100円位）。もともとの値段はUS79.50ドル(6300円位)。他にも、Forever 21, Mango, Zara, Abercrombie & Fitchなどなど。たいていあまりデザインなどの選択肢は無いんですけど。私はこんな買い物が大好きです。
There are so many different shops selling different things in the market where we always stop by during walking. Today's bargain is this. A shirt from a famous American brand, "Banana Republic" for S$18 (US$14.) The original price is US$79.50. There were other brands like Forever 21, Mango, Zara, Abercrombie & Fitch etc. etc. There aren't many options for designs usually, but I love this sort of shopping!
散歩の途中で、またまた面白いもの発見。こちら「BIRDSINGING CLUB/鳥のさえずりクラブと訳してみました。。。」です。
I found again something very interesting during my walk. It's "BIRD SINGING CLUB."
あるおじさんがちょうど車で到着。鳥かごを車から出しました。
An uncle just arrived by a car and took his birdcages out.
鳥籠の中の水受けに水を注いだ後、広場に行って、自分の鳥をかける支柱選び。
After he filled the water containers in the cages with water, he walked to the field and chose poles to hang his birdcages up.
鳥かごがあちらこちらに沢山かかっていました。
There were so many cages up there everywhere.
おじさん達は、クラブのメンバー。朝６時７時位から来て、午後１時くらいに帰るそうです。座って話をしたり、近所の市場の食堂でご飯を食べたりだそうです。
Uncles were all members of this bird singing club. They said they would come around 6 or 7am and stay there sometimes until 1pm. They would sit there and chat and go out to eat lunch at nearby hawker centers and etc..
本当に沢山の支柱が立っていて、沢山の鳥籠がかけてありました。鳥達がとても綺麗に歌っていましたよ！
There were so many poles and may many birdcages up there. And Birds were singing beautifully!!
鳥籠の中の鳥は、チョウショウバトというのだそうです。おじさんが言うには、４０年位も生きるそうです。この鳥、我が家の周りでも時々見かけます。
The birds in the cages are called Zebra Dove. An uncle said that this bird can live for about 40 years! I see those birds around my house sometimes.

えらく長い間ベーキングをしてなかったんですけど。昨日はチョコレートマカロンを作ってみました。とても良い感じにしあがりました。材料は、卵白、グラニュー糖、アーモンドパウダー、粉砂糖。卵白が１００グラムなら、他の材料も全部１００グラムずつ。そして今回はココアパウダーをたっぷり。フィリングはチョコレートクリーム。美味しー。ちなみにこれはお友達への手みやげ。
I haven't done any baking for a long time. But I made some chocolate macaroon yesterday. It turned out really good. Ingredients are egg white, granulated sugar, almond powder and powdered sugar. If egg white weighs 100g, rest of the ingredients also 100g each. I added a lot of cocoa powder this time. And I used Nutella for filling. Yum. Actually, those were gift to my friend.
こちらの大きい葉は、以前に埋めた里芋。いつ収穫すべきなのかしら？
This big leaves are from Taro roots I buried a while ago. I don't know when to harvest.
金曜日の午後はとても天気がよかったので、これらの種を蒔きました。
Friday afternoon was a beautiful sunny day, so I planted those seeds in my garden.
何日で芽が出るでしょう？なんて投稿するつもりだったのに、とろとろしていたらなんと日曜日の朝にはもうモロヘイヤの種の芽が出ていました。あまりの早さにびっくり。
I was going to post an article about planting seeds and was going to say, "How soon those seeds would sprout?" But I was too slow to post it and by Sunday morning, Mulukhiyah sprouts were out already!! I was quite surprised by the speed.
これはバナナの花です。バナナの花ってこんな風に咲くんですね。一度も見た事がありませんでした。すごく面白くて感動です。散歩に行くと色んな新発見があって楽しいです。
This is banana flower. I never knew how it blooms. I've never seen one before. It's very interesting and I am quite impressed. When you take a walk, you encounter many new discoveries and it's fun.
