人面木 Tree with eyes!

前から気になっていた木の写真を撮ってきました．ちょっとへんでしょ。。。。
I finally went to take pictures of a tree that's been catching my attention for a while. Don't you think this tree look weird?!

ハイビジョン HD

コンピュータースクリーンにあまりにも沢山の指紋や点々があったので、スクリーンを拭き掃除してみました。まあ何とびっくり！！！今まで見ていた写真やビデオが高画質、ハイビジョンに大変身！！皆さんもお試しあれ。。。
I noticed there are so many fingerprints, dots, etc. on my computer screen, so I wiped and cleaned the screen very well. Oh, wow, what a surprise!!! All the pictures and videos I used to watch turned into HD quality!!! You may try it too....

日曜日の午後バルボアパークでお琴の演奏をしました。

Our group had a performance at Balboa Park on Sunday afternoon.

「チョコバナナ98、99、100こめの卵で、ロールケーキを作りました。
やっぱりチョコバナナのたまごで、作ると生地が白くなり、
高級な感じのロールケーキになりました。
すごくおいしかった～～～～！！！（＞～＜）」

１００個目 100th

チョコバナナちゃんが先日１００個目の玉子を生みました．お祝いだ〜〜！！！　それを数えて記録していた飼い主もえらい！

Choco & Banana laid the 100th egg the other day. Yeah~~, let's celebrate!!! We need to recognize the owners who kept track of how many eggs C&B have laid!

１週間 One week

前回ブログを書いてからもう１週間が経ってしまいました．あっという間に過ぎたこの１週間いったい私は何をしていたんでしょう？？　んんん。。
歯医者。お友達の家でランチ。テニス。日本語を教えた。聖書の学びをした。クラフトを教えた。よしあの友達が遊びに来た。来週の日曜日サンディエゴでの演奏をひかえお琴の合同練習。もちろんメールに家事炊事。

One week went so fast since my last posting. What did I do during this one week and why time went so fast? Hmmmm....
Visit a dentist. Lunch at a friend's house. Taught a Japanese class. Had a Bible study fellowship. Taught crafting. Joshua's friend came over. Group Koto practice for the performance next Sunday at Balboa Park in San Diego. House chores and emails, of course.

リサイクルクラフト Recycled craft

思いでのつまったパジャマを何かに作り替えてほしいとお友達に頼まれました．色々考え,こんなものを作ってみました．リバーシブルのバッグです．
A friend asked me to make something out of those pajamas which holds many memories. After much thoughts, I made this reversible bag.

17才 Seventeen.

３月８日。啓安の１７回目のお誕生日で〜〜す．彼が生まれた日、で〜〜〜〜っかい満月がとってもきれいでした。

March 8th. Today is Joshua's 17th birthday. On the day he was born, I saw a beautiful BIG full moon in the sky.

お誕生日のケーキは、ミルクティーのシフォンケーキ。生クリームをたっぷり添えて．．．

The birthday cake is a milk tea chiffon cake. Served with a lot of fresh whipped cream.

創造性 Creativity

ケビンに大根の皮を剥いて切っておくように頼みました。しばらくしてから見てみると。。。わぁ〜〜！！なんてクリエイティブなんでしょう。料理も彼のように楽しみながらできるといいのでしょうが。。。

I asked Kevin to peel and cut a Japanese radish. A while later, look what I found! WOW!!! He is so creative. I should enjoy cooking just like in the way he does.

レモンケーキ Lemon Cake

先日お友達にもらったレモンがまだ沢山余っているので使い道を考えていました。それでレモンをたっぷり使ったケーキを焼いてみました。レモン２個分のジュースと１個分の皮を生地に混ぜ込み、１個分のスライスを上にのせて焼き、焼き上がりに１個分のジュースをかけました。ビタミンCたっぷりのさっぱりしたケーキができました。
I still had a lot of lemon I got from a friend few weeks ago and thought of a way to use them. And I made a lemon cake. I mixed juice from two lemons and lemon peels from one into dough, then put lemon slices on the top and baked, then brushed juice from one lemon after the cake was done. The cake tasted very light and sure got a lot of Vitamin C.

オシロイバナ Four O'clock Flower

今日からいよいよ３月ですね。昨日オシロイバナの種を蒔きました。元気に育って沢山きれいな花を咲かしてくれるといいな〜。ところで、この花の名前がとても面白いので由来をネットで調べてみました．「種子を押しつぶすとおしろい状の白粉が現れるのでオシロイバナといいますが、花が夕方の４時頃から咲くので英語ではFour O'clock Flower(午後４時の花？！）という」そうです。なるほど。

Wow, today is March already! I sow "Four O'clock flower" seeds yesterday. Hope it will grow well and brighten my garden with colorful flowers! I found the name of this flower interesting, so I checked it on the web. "It's called OSHIROIBANA(face powder flower) in Japanese because white powder comes out when you crush the seeds. In English, it's called Four O'clock Flower because the plant has a habit of blooming after 4:00 PM." I see..
