チキンライス Chicken Rice

シンガポールに来たら必ず食べて下さい、チキンライス！日本＝寿司。アメリカ＝ハンバーガー?!　シンガポール＝チキンライス!　ちなみにこれは今日の晩ご飯。

If you ever come to Singapore, you must eat CHICKEN RICE!  Japan=Sushi, America=Hamburger, Singapore=Chicken rice!!  This is our dinner tonight.

こちらは私が食べた今日のランチセット。まずはオニオンスープ。

This is the lunch set I had today.  Started with onion soup.

りきは子羊のなんとか。。。ミントソース

Riki had grilled lamb with mint sauce.

 

ケビンはベビーバックリブ。

Kevin had baby back ribs.

アパート Serviced apartment

 こちらが私たちの仮の住まい。前回ホテル住まいで外食ばかり続き疲れたので、今回は少なくとも自分で料理が出来るオプションがあるのが嬉しいです。それから、毎日お掃除に来てくれるのも嬉しいですねぇーー！！
This is our temporary housing.  We stayed in a hotel last time and I got so tired of eating out everyday, so I am happy that I have an option to be able to do some cooking this time.  And of course, I am very happy that the cleaning service is included.

 こちらはリビングダイニング。This is the living and dining room.

 私たちの寝室。Master bedroom.

トイレ浴室は２つ。There are two bathrooms.

 子供たちの寝室。Kids' bedroom.

何処で見ても同じお月様だけど、ここではちょっと存在感が薄いなー。
It doesn't matter where I am, it's the same moon I am looking at...but somehow it doesn't appeal as much here.....

シンガポール到着！Arrived in Singapore!

 ８月１０日の朝、シンガポールに到着いたしました。いよいよ駐在妻の生活開始で〜す！！
We arrived in Singapore on August 10th in the morning.  Let the life of expat wife begin!!

 シンガポールの国花、沢山のきれいな蘭の花が空港で私たちを迎えてくれました。
Singapore's national flower, many beautiful orchid welcomed us at the airport.

 こちらはシンガポールの高速道路。沢山の木で囲まれているところが素晴らしい。
This is the high way of Singapore. What is wonderful about it is that it's surrounded by many trees.

あまり良い写真じゃあないんですけど、こちらが新しい話題のホテル。
This is not a very good photo..., but this is the new cool hotel. 

８月１１日は２１回目の結婚記念日。Happy 21st anniversary to us!

香港より from Hong Kong

月曜日の朝早くに香港に着きました。さて、私たちはお昼に何を食べたでしょう？！そりゃあもちろん。。点心です！！こちらはとても蒸し暑くて、湿度は９０％って感じ。まあそのお陰で良い事と言ったら、お肌がしっとりって言う事かしら〜。
We arrived in Hong Kong early morning on Monday.  And guess what we had for lunch?!  Of course!! Dim Sum.  It's very very humid here, something like 90% humidity.  Good thing about it though,  it keeps my skin moist (^-^). 

空っぽ。サンタモニカ。満腹。Empty. Santa Monica. Full stomach.

 引っ越し屋さんの仕事が終わり。家の掃除も終わり。３年間住んだ家の中は空っぽです。
Movers finished their work.  House cleaning is done.  The house we lived in for three years is now empty.

 よしあの部屋も空っぽ。住人も引っ越しちゃったし。。
Joshua's room is empty.  Resident of this room is also gone.....

 こちらはサンタモニカ。Here is Santa Monica.

 よしあの行っている大学から車で１５分くらい。とても素敵なビーチです。
 It's only 15min. drive from the university Joshua goes.  It's a very nice beach.

 これは昨夜の晩ご飯。よしあも一緒に日本食レストラン「夢舎」へ行きました。これはサバ。
Those are what we had for dinner last night. We took Joshua out to a Japanese restaurant called "Musha."  This is mackerel.
 

刺身サラダ。SEARED ALBACORE TUNA SALAD.

お腹いっぱい！！My stomach is filled!!

引っ越し２日目 Moving Day 2

 家の中は箱だらけ。Boxes everywhere in the house.

 この大きなトラックに荷物をのせます。余談ですが、このトラックは運転席の後ろが２段ベッドになっていてびっくり。
Everything will be loaded onto this truck.  BTW, I was surprised to find that there is a quite good sized bunk bed behind the driver's seat.  

 荷積み完了。３日かかると見積もっていたのですが２日で終えました。
Finished loading.  They estimated it will take three days to finish, but they finished in two days.

 理輝と恵敏は家の中を全部お掃除してくれました。ちゃんとやったらお父さんからお金が支払われるという約束でした。
Riki and Kevin worked together to clean the entire house.  There was a promise between daddy and kids that when they completed the job well, they get paid. 

 こちらは今日のお昼に食べたブリトー。美味しかった！
This is the burrito I had for lunch.   It was good!

こちらは、昨夜食べたちらし。めちゃ美味しかった！！これから毎日外食が続きます。。。疲れるなー。
This is Chirashi Sushi I had last night.  It was really really good!  We must eat out every day for a while..... I am tired of it already...

引っ越し Moving

今日は引っ越し屋さんが来て、荷造りしま〜す。こちらの準備はだいたいオッケー！２日間で終わるかな？
Today, moving company is coming to pack everything.  My part of preparation for moving is mostly finished! Maybe, they can finish in two days?
