散策 Exploring

 昨日はアパートから市の中心の広場、Marienplatzまで歩きました。およそ3.7キロ４６分とグーグルで出てきましたが、沢山綺麗な物や面白い物があって寄り道したので、３倍はかかりました。
I walked from our apartment to central square, Marienplatz yesterday.  According to google map, it's about 2.3miles and takes 46 minutes on foot, but it took me three times longer as I was stopped by too many interesting and wonderful things that caught my attention.

ミュンヘンの紫陽花はまだ緑です。オオイヌノフグリがまだ咲いているから季節は日本より数ヶ月遅れてるのでしょうか。

Hydrangea is still green in Munich.  Considering Persian Speedwell is still blooming, maybe the season here is a few months behind of Japan's.

 大きな駐車場付きの大きなスーパー見つけました。きっとお世話になる事間違いなし。
Came across this big grocery store with big parking space.  For sure, we will visit here often.

 この本屋さんの中にはとっても可愛い絵本やカードが沢山ありました。ドイツ語が読めたら良いなと真剣に思いました。
This book store carried so many cute children books and beautiful cards.  I seriously felt sorry that I couldn't read German.

イーザルトーア門と言ったら良いのかな？ミュンヘンにはこんな中世都市の壁が４カ所にあるそうです。これはその中の１つ。

 This is called Isartor which is one of four main gates of the medieval city wall in Munich.

 ミュンヘンには沢山古い教会がありますよ。こちらはHeiliggeistkirche。日本語わかんない(>_<)　中はとっても美しかったです。
There are many old churches in Munich.  This is Heiliggeistkirche.  Inside was beautiful.

やっと目的地のマリエン広場に。疲れたけど楽しかったー！帰りは電車で帰りました。
I finally arrived the destination, Marienplatz.  I was so tired, but it was fun.  I took a train back home.

ドイツではドイツ車 In Germany, Drive German Car

注文していた車を取りに行って来ました。そうです、BMW。

We went to pick up our car we ordered.  Yes, it's BMW.

これ！ではありません。ここにはカッコイイ車が沢山並べられていたんです。

THIS! wasn't ours.  There were so many cool cars on display there.

カッコイイBMWグッズも沢山売ってました。

Many cool BMW goods were sold there, too.

BMWのロゴマーク入りカップで無料のカフェオレを頂きました。美味しかった。

I had free cafe au lait in a BMW logo cup.  Yum.

さてさて、これが私達の車です。中国人は８の数字が好きだと知っていたセースルの方が８の２つあるナンバープレートを用意してくれてました。(^O^) そしてBMW博物館への入場券もくれると約束してくれました。この方は客を喜ばすすべをご存知！

Finally, here is our car.  The sales person prepared a license plate with two "8" knowing that Chinese people like number 8.  (^O^)  And he promised to give us free vouchers for BMW museum.  He knows how to keep customers happy!

川サーフィン River Surfing

土曜日にアパートから５０分も歩いてミュンヘンの街の中心地まで行って来ました。その途中イザール川でサーフィンしてる人達を発見！どうやらミュンヘンは川サーフィンのメッカらしい。
We walked about 50 min. to the Munich city center from our apartment and we found people surfing in the Isar River.  It seems like Munich is the mecca of river surfing.

ミュンヘンで初めてのお買い物 First Time Shopping in Munich

アパートからこの道を歩いて、近くの駅の周りにあるお店までお買い物に出かけました。
Walking along this street from my apartment, I went to check out the shops nearby train station.

これが一番近い駅です。Giesing=> google map　ここまで歩いて８分くらい。

This is the closest station.  Giesing=> google map It's about 8min. on foot.

まずはアジアのお店をチェック。ベトナム人のオーナーでした。納豆まで売っててびっくり。桔梗の花も売ってました。

First, I went to check out a Asian Market.  The owner was vietnamese.  I was surprised to find Natto there.  They had bellflowers, too.

こちらは普通のドイツのスーパー。チョコレートやビールが豊富。私が飲んで育ったヤクルトもありましたよー！柿もありました。あれ？今頃柿の季節だっけ？

This is one of regular German grocery stores.  There were so many varieties of chocolates and beers!!   They even had Japanese Yakult which I grew up drinking them.  There were persimmons, too.  BTW, is persimmons in season now?

こちらはまた別のドイツのスーパー。チーズやハムやベーカリーが充実。赤大根なんてのもありましたよ。サッカーボールのようなゆで卵も発見。

This is another grocery store.  The store was filled with many varieties of cheese, ham and baked goods.  They even had red turnip and hard boiled soccer-ball-like eggs.  

これが初めてのお買い物で買って来たもの。帰り道、バッグがメチャ重かった！

These were what I got from my first shopping trip.  My bag was very heavy on the way home!

限られた食材と鍋で作ったドイツで初めての自宅で晩ご飯。

言い忘れてましたけど。スーパーのレジの人達皆座って仕事してました。

I forgot to tell you.  Cashers were all sitting in chairs to do their job.

ミュンヘンからこんにちは〜！ Hello from Munich!

12日にロサンゼルスを発って、13日の夕方ミュンヘンに到着。

We left Los Angeles on 12th and arrived in Munich in the evening of 13th.

こちらのアパートに８月まで住みます。ワンベッドルームアパートで小さいキッチンが付いています。
We will stay in this apartment until August.  It has one bedroom with a small kitchen, full bath and small dining area.

アパートに着いた頃にはもう遅かったので、近所にあった中華のレストランへ。とにかく野菜とご飯が食べたかった。この写真は残り物を次の日にアパートで食べた時の物ですけど。。
It was late evening by the time we arrived at our serviced apartment, so we went to a Chinese restaurant nearby.  I just wanted to eat some vegetable and rice.  This picture was taken when I ate the leftover on the next day.

中華のレストランへ行けば中国語で注文出来ると思ったのが間違いでした。オーナーはベトナム人で中国語も英語も話せませんでした。英語のメニューも無かったのでちょっと大変でした。因にSchweinefleisch: 豚肉 Rindfleisch: 牛肉,  Huhnerfleisch: 鶏肉らしい。この時私はドイツ語を学ばなければと 痛感したのであった。

We were wrong about ordering meals in Chinese if we went to a Chinese restaurant.  The owner was a vietnamese and he didn't speak Chinese nor English.  He didn't even have a menu in English, so we struggled a little bit.  FYI, Schweinefleisch: Pork meat, Rindfleisch: Beef meat,  Huhnerfleisch: Chicken meat.  This really prompted me to learn German.

火曜日14日は夕方晩ご飯を食べに行くまで一日中部屋にこもっていました。

I stayed in my room all day until we went out for dinner in the evening on Tuesday, 14th.

 昨夜の晩ご飯は地中海料理のお店。私はムサカ(Moussaka)を注文。とおっても美味しかったです。
The dinner last night was at a mediterranean restaurant.  I ordered a Moussaka.  It was delicious!

 たけちゃんはタコとイカとエビのグリル。とっても美味しそうでしたよ。
T.K. ordered grilled octopus, baby squid and shrimp.  It looked good.

バイバイ息子達 バイバイアメリカ Good-bye Sons, Good-bye America

お別れの時が来ました。まずは和牛を食べて身体に栄養を与えました。

The time had come to say good-bye. We nourished our body with Wagyu beef at first. 

良い子はキャンディをもらい、お別れの準備。

A good girl got candies and prepared herself to say farewell. 

父母は息子二人を南カリフォルニアに残してドイツへ旅立ちます。

Daddy and mommy are leaving two sons in S. California and departing for Germany.

子供達にサヨナラ言うのは寂しかったけど(ちょっと泣いちゃったけど(^^;; ) 前に進まなくっちゃ！子供達が皆巣を離れた今、私は人生の次のチャプターを楽しむ準備バッチリです。

I was sad to say good-bye to boys( I cried a little bit (^^;; ), but I must move on. Now, all of our children left our nest and I am ready to enjoy the next chapter in life. 

グルメ(o^^o) Gourmet (o^^o)

引越しの為、水曜日からずっと外食しています。。(^^;;

We've been eating out since Wednesday due to our moving. 

今週末はロサンゼルスにいるので、たくさん美味しい日本食を頂いています。

As we are in Los Angeles this weekend, we've been enjoying eating really good Japanese food. 

なんとこちらはベーガン／マクロビレストラン。全部お野菜だけですが十分満足感。

This is a vegan/macrobiotic restaurant. Everything was plant based, but it was quite satisfying. 

ご馳走さまでした(o^^o)

Thank God for wonderful meals. 

引っ越し Moving

 チャン家はまた引っ越しです。

Chan family is moving again.

水曜日に引っ越し屋さんが来て全部荷造り。

Movers came and packed everything on Thursday.

 今日は朝７時半から荷積み。Loading started at 7:30am today.

十時半には引っ越し屋さん荷積みを終えて、家の中は空っぽ。

By 10:30am, movers were done with loading and our house was empty.

大きなコンテナの半分までで荷物はおさまりました。

A half of the 40ft. container was enough to fit all of our stuff.

引っ越しやのチームの皆さんご苦労様！

３年住んだお家にお別れです。

 Saying good bye to the house we lived in for three years.

 無事引っ越しを終えた後は、テメキュラワイナリーへ。

After finishing the hard work of moving, we went to Temecula winery.

 そしてリラックスした時間を美味しいランチとシャンパンで楽しみました。

And we enjoyed the relaxing time and tasty lunch with a glass of champagne.

最後はカフェラテとデザート。しあわせー。

We completed the meal with Cafe Latte and a dessert.  We are so blessed.
