犯人判明 Offender is identified.

我が家の家の周りの塀には沢山このような黒い物がへばりついています。
So much of those black stuff are stuck on the wall around my house.

なんだかとてもいやな感じです。ずっと前からこれは何？と思っていたのですが、やっと真実が解明されました。
And they don't look very nice at all.  I've been wondering what those stuff are and finally the truth is out.

こいつでしたよ。ちょっと気持ち悪い映像でごめんなさい。例の大きなカタツムリちゃん達のうんちでした。
It was those guys.  Sorry for the unpleasant picture.  The stuff were the poop of those big snails.

スネークフルーツ Snake fruit

私が以前紹介したスネークフルーツ。いよいよ試食のときが参りました。
This is the snake fruit I introduced in the past post.  Finally the time for the tasting had come.

姪のあかねさんが試食に挑戦してくれました。後ろで見てる誰かさんの表情 (^O^)

My niece, Akane was brave enough to taste it for us.  Look at the expression of someone behind her :-)

感想は。。。「まあ、まずくもないけど、美味しくもない」と言うような感じでした。挑戦してくれてありがとう！
So what's the comment?  "Hmm... It's not really that bad, but it's not tasty either."  Thank you, Akane for trying.

帰路へ On the way back home

４日間のシンガポールでの休暇を終えてお客様は日本への帰路へ。まだまだかなり寒〜い日本気候に備えて空港で衣替え。

My guests are now on the way back to Japan after fishing the four-day holiday in Singapore.  They put more clothes at the airport and got themselves ready for the cold climate in Japan. 

 ６月には日本で再会！

They will see each other again in June in Japan!

バードパーク Bird Park

今日はバードパークへ行ってきました。私にとっては３年ぶり。とてもカラフルな鳥がいっぱいいました。
Today, we went to the Jurong Bird Park.  For me, it had been three years since my last visit.   There were many beautiful colorful birds.

 

３年前に友達とここへピクニックに来ました。そしてその後彼女が作ってくれたのが下の写真のキルト。きれいでしょ〜！

I came here for a picnic with my friend three years ago.  Following is the picture of the quilt she made for me after the picnic.  Isn't it beautiful!

買ったよ Bought it.

きのうチャイナタウンに行った時、買っちゃいました〜！１９ドルだと思ったら、１０ドルでした。鳥肌たっちゃうけど、気もち良い〜〜！！

I bought this yesterday when we went to Chinatown.  I thought it was S$19, but it was S$10.  It gives me goosebumps, but it feels really good!

弟家族は、シンガポール動物園とナイトサファリに行きました。

My brother and his family went to Singapore Zoo and Night Safari today.

お客様到着 Our guests have arrived.

日本からお客さんがやって来ました。夜中に羽田を発って朝シンガポールに到着。
Our guests from Japan has arrived.  They left Haneda, Japan in midnight and arrived here in the morning.

彼女達は私の姪っ子達。沢山のお土産を持って来てくれました！ \(^_^)/
They are my nieces.  They brought a lot of goodies for us!!!  \(^_^)/

やっと。。 Finally.

こちらは2008年10月の写真。あれから長い月日が経ちました。

This photo was taken in Octorber, 2008.  Many years and days had passed since.

 そしてとうとう先週の土曜日、よしあが待ちわびていた日がやって来ました。
And finally last Saturday, the day Joshua had long waited for had come.

 矯正の器具が外されました。自由です〜〜！！
The braces were finally removed.  FREEDOM~~!!

と思ったら、数日後、このリテイナーが完成。数ヶ月間はこれをいつもはめていないといけません。つかの間の自由でした。。。(^_^)

That's what he thought.  A few days later, this retainer was made for him.  He must wear this all the time for a couple of months.  It was a very short period of freedom. (^_^)

そのヘッドフォンを最近ケビンがお父さんから買い取りました。どうやらお母さんのガミガミ言っているうるさい音も軽減されるらしく、iTouchの音楽やゲームを存分楽んでいるようです。

Recently, Kevin bought this headphone from his dad.  This seems to help reduce the noise of mommy's nagging at him and allow him truly enjoy the music and games on iTouch.

汚い仕事 Dirty Job

大問題です。今日はちょっとお見苦しい映像があります事を警告いたします。

It's a BIG problem.  I must warm you that there are some disturbing pictures in today's post.

 火曜日の朝です。客間の浴室が汚水でいっぱい！もうびっくり！今日ばかりは、今の技術ではまだネットで匂いまで届けられない事に感謝します。
It was Tuesday morning.  The bathroom floor in the guest room was flooded with filthy water!  What a surprise!  Just for today, I thank God that the technology today is still not capable of sending smells online.

 どうやら、メインのパイプがつまっていたらしく、こんなトラックがやって来て活躍してくれました。ジェットパワーとやらでパイプのつまりはすっきりきれいになりました。
It seemed that the main drain pipe was clogged, so they came with this truck to do the job.  They used high pressure water jetting and cleaned up the pipe.

 そのメインパイプの出口はこちら。ここを開けなければいけなかったんです。なんと開けたとたん、ちょおびっくりなことが！ゴキの大群が飛び出してきました！
The end of the main pipe was here.  And they had to open here.  !!!!BIG SURPRISE!!! when they opened it.  Millions of roaches flew out of that place!!

汚くて臭い浴室のお掃除に加えて、こやつらの処分もしなくちゃいけなかったんです。この日は、心も身体もくたくたでした。

I had to deal with those on top of mopping and cleaning up the filty smelly bathroom!!!  I was emotionally and physically exhausted that day!

いよいよ。。。 No longer....

お母さん床屋は卒業です。だって、お母さんはファッション雑誌のナウいカットなんて出来ません。。。「ナウい」なんて言ってる時点でアウト？！
No longer getting a haircut from mommy!  Mommy cannot do the styles in fasion magazines!  Hers is outdated.   :-(

今日のランチ Today's lunch.

 今日は近くのホーカーセンターまで歩いて、ランチを食べてきました。サトウキビジュースとワンタンめん。お一人様295円。
We walked to a nearby Hawker center and had lunch.  We each had a glass of sugarcane juice and wonton noodle.  US$ 3.50 each person.

猫が午後の昼寝を楽しんでいました。超リラックス！

 This cat was enjoying her/his afternoon nap.  So relaxed!

１９歳! 19 !

 この日から１９年経った今は以下の感じ。。。変わりましたー？

Nineteen years has passed since ... and now he looks like below...  Has he changed?

３月８日はよしあのお誕生日。お誕生日を一緒に祝う事が出来なかったのは今回が初めて。ちょっと寂しかったですねーー。こちらの写真は、先月お父さんが出張でロサンゼルスへ行った時に一緒にご飯を食べた時に撮ったもの。アメリカへの出張は最低年に４回はあるので、お父さんは最低年に４回はよしあと会えます。母が会えるのは年に２回よしあが帰省する時だけです。でも、いっつもメールでやり取りしてます！！(^_^)

March 8th was Joshua's birthday.  This birthday was the first birthday we couldn't celebrate together.  I was a little sad.  :-(   This picture was taken when daddy went to Los Angeles on a business trip and took Joshua out for lunch and dinner last month.  Daddy has at least four business trips to US every year, so he get to see Joshua at least four times a year.  Mommy only gets to see him twice a year when he comes to visit us.  But we text each other all the time! :-)

社会奉仕 Community Service

ケビンが先週の土曜日に学校の仲間達とインドネシアのバッタムまで家を建てるお手伝いに行ってきました。これは学校の授業の一環でもあり、自分たちで選んでやる事に決めた活動でもあります。この汚れたシャツと半ズボンをみたら、一生懸命働いたケビンの姿が想像できるかと思います。

Kevin went to Batam, Indonesia with a group of friends from school last Saturday to help build a house for a family.  This project was a part of school curriculum, but it was also a voluntarily work that children chose to do.  You could probably picture Kevin working very hard by looking at this dirty T-shirt and short. 

彼らはこの家族の為に家を建てるお手伝いをしました。家を建てる為の資材を買うお金も子供たちが募金活動をして集めました。ケビンはお手伝いをしてもらったお金を全部この為に寄付しました。以前お財布を売ったのを覚えていますか？そのお金もこの為に使いました。このへんの彼の気前の良さには感心します。ハビタットという団体を通して行きました。皆さんもこの活動に参加してみてはどうでしょう？
They helped to build a house for this family.  Kids had to raise funds to buy materials for the house as well.  Kevin donated all the money from doing his chores and also, remember the wallets he made and sold?, he donated those money as well.  I admire his generosity.  This project was through Habitat for Humanity.  Would you like to consider being part of those projects?

答えはこちらです。頭をマッサージするもの。知りませんでしたが、アメリカでも売っているみたいですよ。。トライしてみたんですけど、ちょっとぞくぞくっとして全身鳥肌ってかんじでした。キッチンや手芸用品？というお答えがありました。。確かにそうも見えますね。クイズに参加して下さってどうもありがとう！
 The answer is this, a head massager.  I didn't know, apparently it is available in US, too.  I tried it at the spot, it was quite sensational, tingling and gave me goose bumps from head to toe.  Some of my readers' answers were for cooking or crafting.  Hmm, yes, they do look like for those purpose, too.  Thank you for your participation in this quiz!

今朝チャイナタウンで見つけた結構優れものなこれ。本当は欲しかったんだけど、１個１９ドルもするから買わなかった。。自分で作れるかな?! ところで、これ何だ？
This, I think, is a pretty amazing thing I found in China town this morning.  I wanted to buy one, but it was S$19 each, so I didn't buy any.  I wondered I could make one?!  BTW, what do you think this is?

でか！Big!

この巨大バッタを庭で発見。だいたい１０センチくらいあるんですよ。

I found this huge grasshopper in the garden.   It's about 4 inches!! 

こちらのカタツムリも、大きかったです。

This snail was very big, too.

幸いにも今のところ巨大トカゲにはお目にかかっていません。

Thank God, I haven't seen any huge lizard around here yet.
