ドバイ経由シンガポールの旅 Trip to Singapore via Dubai

子供達が皆帰り夫も出張、私も家に一人ではいません。

All children left home and husband away on business, I didn't want to stay home alone, either.  

じゃあ私も旅に出る！こちらはドバイ着陸近づいた時に撮影。砂漠が綺麗。

Then, I too wanted to go on a trip!  Photo taken shortly before landing. Beautiful desert.

ドバイの後はシンガポールへ。４年半ぶりです。

Flying to Singapore after stopping in Dubai.  Four and a half years since the last visit.

 懐かしいなー。Bring back all the good memories.

シンガポールは今旧正月の準備中。

Singapore is preparing for Lunar New Year.

引き算 Subtraction

 楽しかった家族五人での冬休みも終わりを迎えました。

Five of us together fun family winter break came to an end.

 一人づつそれぞれの場所に戻って行きました。

Each went back to their own place.

 最初に帰ったのはカリフォルニアに向かうケビン。

First to leave was Kevin going back to California.

 そして次はカンザスシティーに帰った啓安。

Next was Joshua going back to Kansas City.

そして最後は東海岸のお友達の所へ向かった理輝。

And the last was Riki flying to East Coast to visit his friend.

ちゃん一家に関しては足し算はいいですけど、引き算は寂しいですねー。

When it comes to Chan family, addition is nice, but subtraction is sad....

不意を突かれた。。。Being Caught Off Guard

携帯のアプリで一人ニヤニヤ楽しく遊んでいたところを後ろから来た夫に不意をつかれた。(´⊙ω⊙`)

I was happily playing alone with a cell phone app, then my husband came from behind, catching me off guard. (´⊙ω⊙`)

親知らずを抜いた後の顔バージョン。

After extracting wisdom teeth version. 

「お前は本当に暇人だ！」って父の声が聞こえてきそうだわ。。

I could almost hear my father saying, "Akiko got too much time on her hands."

理輝23歳の誕生日 Riki's 23rd Birthday

今日は理輝の２３回目のお誕生日でした。

Today was Riki's 23rd birthday.

２０年前の理輝。Riki, twenty years ago.

今日の理輝。Riki, today.

今日は家族全員で理輝のお誕生日を祝えたことに感謝です。晩御飯はギリシャ料理レストランへ行きました。めちゃ美味しかった。
I'm so grateful that all of us were here together to celebrate his birthday today.  We went to a Greek restaurant for dinner and the food was excellent.

今年は御節は作れませんでしたが、お餅だけはつきました。

I couldn't make Osechi this year, but I made Mochi at the least.

昨夜は家のバルコニーから本当に素晴らしい花火が見られました。大きな花火を買って大晦日時計が夜中の12時に変わったと同時にその花火を上げるのがドイツの伝統なのだそうです。

We had a super fabulous view of fireworks from our balcony last night.  I was told that it's German tradition that people buy big fireworks and let them off when the clock hit the midnight on the New Year's Eve.

我が家は４階建てのビルの最上階でバルコニーが広いので240度の景色が見られます。おかげで昨夜は30分以上も続く超素晴らしい花火の景色に興奮しまくりでした。下の階の人達があげた花火は私達の正面や真上でとても綺麗に花開いていました。上のビデオ見てね。

Our home is on the top floor of a four-storey building and has a big balcony which enable us to see 240 degree view.  I was so excited to see a super spectacular view of fireworks lasted way over 30 min. last night.  The fireworks from the downstair neighbors blossomed right in front and above us so beautifully.  Please watch above video.
