This is the view from our balcony.  This video was taken by Kevin's cell phone, iPhone.  It's amazing what iPhone could do.

街ブラ Wandered Around in Town

こちらはタケちゃんの同僚の奥様。イタリア人で日本の漫画が大好き。キャンディキャンディやガラスの仮面の話で盛上がり、すぐにお友達になりました。先週彼女が彼女の好きなお店を紹介してくれました。

This is my hubby's colleague's wife.  She is an Italian who loves Japanese comics.  We got so excited talking about stories like, Candy-Candy, Glass Mask, etc. and didn't take much time to become friends.  Last week, she took me to a few of her favorite stores in town.

こちらはガラスのボトルやグラスのお店( Bottles & Glashaus)。とにかくありとあらゆるガラス製品が置いてありました。中の写真を撮れなかったので上のリンクを見てね。

This is a shop called "Bottles & Glashaus," and they sell all sort of glass products from bottles, cups, jars, marbles to test tubes.  Since I couldn't take any pics in the store, please take a look of above link.

デパ地下で回転寿しまであったー！ミュンヘンのアジア系レストランはベトナム人の方が経営している所が多いみたい。
I even came across a Kaiten Sushi (sushi-go-round.)  This is just my observation, it seems that many of Asian restaurant in Munich are run by Vietnamese.

これは私が街をブラブラしていて見つけたお店です。このカラフルで整頓されてて暖かい感じ好きだなー。創作意欲が湧きます。お友達は沢山のクラフトのお店も紹介してくれました。何か作ろうかなー。
This is a shop I found while I was just wandering around in town before I meet her.  I love things that are in order, colorful and warm.  This picture inspires me to create.  She also showed me many craft stores.  Maybe it's time for me to make something.

教会の鐘 Church Bells

ミュンヘンには古いカトリックの教会が沢山あります。こちらはフラウエン教会。とっても大きくて背の高い教会です。
There are many old Catholic churches in Munich.  This one is Munich Frauenkirche

ちょうど隣を通った時に教会の鐘が鳴り始めました。ミュンヘンではあちこちで教会の鐘を聞くことが出来ます。とってもいい響きで私は大好きです。
ところで、この＝＞サイトを開いて下さい。１０種類の鐘の音が聞けます。さてこのビデオの中の鐘の音は何番のでしょうか？
Just as I walked by the church, the church bell started to ring.  I could hear church bells' ringing at many places in Munich.  I love the sound of them.
BTW, please go to this =>site.  You could hear 10 kinds of church bells.  Which number do you think is the sound of this bell in this video?

串焼きサバ Mackerel on a Stick

 スーパーの出口の所にトラックが停まっていて、そこで大きな串焼きのサバが売られていました。２本で１１ヨーロ。ドイツで串焼きサバとはビックリでした。
There was a truck just outside a grocery store and a guy was selling big grilled mackerels on sticks.  He was selling two for 11 euro.  Seeing grilled mackerels being sold like this in Germany surprised me.

お味は？本当にすごく新鮮で柔らかくてしっとりしていてとっても美味しかったです。
The taste?  It was so fresh, tender, juicy and really delicious.

サウンドオブミュージック The Sound of Music

家から車で２時間弱、オーストリアのザルツブルグと言う街に行って来ました。ここはなぜ人気なのでしょうか？そうです、映画サウンドオブミュージックが撮影された場所だからです。それから、モーツァルトが生まれた場所でもあります。
We drove about two hours to a town called Salzburg, Austria.  Do you know why is this town so popular?  Yes, it's because it's where the Sound of Music was filmed and also because it's where Mozart was born.

1965年3月に発表されたこの映画。その頃私はまだ１歳半、そして５０年ちょっとたった今ジュリーアンドリュースが立っていたまさしくその場所に立っている〜！ヨーロッパって建物が長い間変わらずあるって言うところがすごい！あ、ところで、映画の中のマリアと同じようにポーズしようと思ったんだけど、私の記憶は全く違ってたみたい。。。

This film was released in March, 1965.  I was a year and a half back then and now standing exactly where Julie Andrews was standing after a bit over 50 years.  It's just amazing how buildings stay the same for so many years in Europe.  Oh, BTW, I was trying to pose the same way as Maria did in the film, but my memories of the scenes were totally wrong.

壁や天井の装飾も綺麗。色も良いね。

The decorations on the wall and ceiling are pretty and I like the colors, too.

大きなチェス。Big chess.

これはザルツブルグで有名なデザートSalzburger Nockerlと言います。焼いたメレンゲみたいな感じでした。何かのベリーが入っていました。生クリームとベリーソースで頂きました。美味しかった。
This is a famous dessert in Salzburg called Salzburger Nockerl.  It was like a baked meringue with little bit of berry inside.  We ate it with whipped cream and berry sauce.  Yummy.

取り分けて頂いた前はこんな感じでした。これはザルツブルグの街を囲んでいる３つの山を象徴しているらしいです。
This was how it looked before being served.  The three hills supposed to represent the mountains around the city of Salzburg.

これも有名なデザート、ザッハトルテ。コインではありませんよ！(^O^)　

This is another famous dessert,  Sachertorte.  It's not coins! LOL

これは多分モーツァルトさん。でも頭がない〜 (>_<) 

This probably is a big figure of Mozart, but his head is missing. (>_<)

これは「愛の錠」。愛が永遠に続くように願うのでしょうね。

These are "love locks."  People wish their love last forever, I think..

観光地のど真ん中で昼寝。私もこんな余裕を持って人生を過ごそう！

She was taking a nap in the middle of a tourist spot.   I should learn to enjoy life like she does!

とんがりキャベツとアーティチョーク Cone Shaped Cabbage and Artichokes

 スーパーでキャベツを探していたら、こんなとんがりコーンキャベツを見つけました。
I was looking for cabbage and found this cone shaped cabbage.

葉っぱが三角じゃなかった。。ちょっとがっかり。。普通に丸かったー。どうしてこれは丸じゃなくて三角に巻かれてくんだろう？性格がひねくれてるのかな! (^O^)
To my disappointment,  leaves were not in triangle shape, but it's just ordinary round shape.  Why does this one curl up into cone shape instead of regular round shape?  Maybe this cabbage got twisted character! (^O^) LOL

 綺麗なアーティチョークも売ってましたー。アメリカで売っていたアーティチョークは花が付いてませんでしたけど、これは花が付いていますね。アザミみたい。生け花にも使えそうですね。
They had beautiful artichokes.  The artichokes sold in America didn't have flowers, but these ones still had flowers.  They look like thistles.  I think these could be used for Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), too.

便座 Toilet Seat

家のトイレの便座、四角いんです。。ちょっとしっくりこないんです。。。(^_^;;
うっかり便座を下ろし忘れて座っちゃった事ありますか？その感覚覚えてますか？それこそがこの便座に座った時の感覚です!!!
Our toilet seat is rectangular and it doesn't quite fit to my comfort.  (^_^;;  Have you accidentally sat on a toilet bowl because you forgot to put down the toilet seat?  Remember how you felt?  That's exactly the feeling I get when I sit on a rectangular toilet seat!!

ドイツで初めての運転 First Time Driving in Munich

今日初めてドイツで運転したー！初めての車だし初めてのドイツでの運転だから緊張したよ〜。ドイツはアメリカと同じ右側を走ります。路上駐車がメッチャ多いし、道幅はアメリカより狭いし、自転車に乗ってる人がとても多いからあちこち見てなくっちゃ。

Today was my first time driving in Munich.  It's first time driving our car and first time driving here, so I was quite nervous.  Cars go on right side of roads, just as it is in USA.  I had to look around carefully all the time because there are so many cars parked on the streets, toads are narrower than America and there are so many people on bicycles.  

綺麗な紫陽花 Beautiful Hydrangea

こんな綺麗なピンク色の紫陽花が咲いていました。

Such beautiful pink hydrangea was blooming.

こちらの殆ど白に近いちょっとピンクな紫陽花もとっても綺麗でした。ミュンヘンでは今が紫陽花の季節の様ですね。
This almost white slightly pink hydrangea was very beautiful, too.  Hydrangeas seem to be in season  here in Munich now.

芝刈りロボット Lawbot

私達のアパートのバルコニーからこんな物が見えました。初めて見た芝刈りロボット。とっても働き者！芝もとっても綺麗です。時々充電ステーションに戻って休んでいましたよ。とっても可愛い！ビデオは４倍速にしました。
This is a scene from our apartment's balcony and the first time I've seen a lawbot.  It's hard working and the lawn looked great!  It occasionally went back to rest at a charging station.  It's so cute!  This video is made 4X faster than original.
