値切る！ Bargaining!

ここは絶対に値切らないとダメなお買い物の通り。

Here is the famous shopping street that you must bargain; otherwise, you will be paying a lot more than you ought to. 

ここでのお買い物経験が数回あるうちの息子たち。値切るのが上手になりました。

Experienced shoppers, our sons who have shopped a couple times here, are now good at bargaining. 

私はこれを買いました。最初は75香港ドルと言われ、いらないと言ったら、70ドルと…高いからいらない言ったら、何ドルなら買うか？と聞くから、35ドルと言ったら、無理無理。。。と言うので、店を離れようとしたら、オッケーオッケー、じゃあ40ドルと。で、まあいいかと買ってやりました。30ドル位で買えたら値切り大成功かな！45ドルでも充分安いけどね。

日本円にすると、975円ー910円ー最終520円

I bought this. Initially, she said it's 75 HK $. Then I said I didn't want it. Right away, she said 70$. I said  it's still expensive, so I didn't want it. Then, she asked how much I would pay, so I said 35$. Then, she said NO NO!  So, I started to walk away. Then, she said OK, OK, 40$. I wasn't fully convinced with the price, but I gave in and bought it for 40$. Bargaining would have been a big success if it was 30 HK$.  Actually, this one for 40$ is quite inexpensive and acceptable. 

In US dollars: $9,68--> $9,03--> $5,16

この日はめちゃくちゃ蒸し暑い日で、人もいっぱい。このおじさんの作ってくれたココナツドリンクがメチャ美味しかった。

This day was really hot and humid, and there were so many people. The coconut drink this uncle made was really yummy and refreshing. 

並んだ甲斐あり！

It was really worth waiting in line. 

香港から From Hong Kong

只今香港です。主人の実家に来ています。実家は、元朗と言う街の近く。中国の深圳にも近いです。香港は只今とっても蒸し暑くって、その上どこに行っても人が多くってゴチャゴチャしていて不快指数120% 

We are now in Hong Kong visiting parents-in-law. Their house is close to a city called Yuen Long. It"s also close to Shenzhen, China.  The weather in Hong Kong now is so hot and humid, on top of that, everywhere we go, places are filled with people and stuff which  makes discomfort index of 120%!

義理母の作る中華ちまきは最高！端午節の時に食べるちまき。今年の端午節は6月初旬で、義理母は、義理父と義理妹と共に119個のちまきを作ったそうです。その内の30個を私達のためにとって置いてくれました。とおーーっても美味しかったです。ありがとう！

The Zongzi (sticky rice dumpling) that my mother-in-law makes is the BEST!  The Zongzi is supposed to be eaten during the Dragon Boat Festival.  It was in early June this year and she made 119 Zongzi with the help of father-in-law and daughter-in-law(not me, the other one (^^;; ). She saved 30 of them for us. They were super delicious. Thank you!  

フレンドシップブレスレット Friendship Bracelet

フレンドシップブレスレットを初めて作っています。中国結びのブレスレットと同じ技法を使っていますね。

I am making a friendship bracelet for the first time. It uses the same technic as the Chinese knotting bracelet.

日本から From Japan

今週は日本のお友達の家にお泊り。8歳の娘ちゃんが歓迎のお飾りを作って待っていてくれました。嬉しいね。

Spending this week at a friend's house in Japan. My little eight years old girl friend (friend's daughter) welcomed us with a colorful cute banner.   Feeling happy!

フォルクスワーゲンのキャンパーバンが完成しました。このデザインの素晴らしさを楽しんで下さい。本当にレゴのデザイナーさんはすごいです。レゴの会社で働きたい！

また山火事だ！ Wildfire again!

６月になりましたねー。１週間も投稿をしていませんでしたー。だらだらしていましたー。またまた山火事です。今回はテメキュラ。たけちゃんが働いている所のすぐ裏の山。

It's June already.  I hadn't posted anything for a week.  I must admit that I had been lazy.  There was a wildfire again.  This time was in Temecula, on the hills right behind where T.K. works.

たけちゃんがオフィスの窓から撮ったビデオです。会社は無事でしたよ。
