よく働いた！！Worked hard!!

昨日はよく働いた！引っ越し荷物もほとんど荷解きが終わり、それぞれの場所に収納された、車庫の中の物もいろいろ片付けて、車が二台ちゃんと停められるようになったよ。子供達は荷造りに使った紙の整理に追われています。

We worked so hard yesterday and finished most of the boxes unpacked and placed them where they should go.  We cleaned up the garage and organized all the tools, boxes etc..  We can finally park two cars there.  Boys are sorting out the papers that movers used for packing.  

CRV

え？このCRVって何？私の車？じゃないって。。私のはCR−V。ジュースや水を買うとCRVがとられるんだよね。ようするに、リサイクルをしましょう！ってことなんだけど、わざわざリサイクルセンターに持っていかないと、そのCRVのお金は返してもらえない。ただのリサイクルのゴミ箱に捨てたら、お金を捨ててるようなもの。。。ぎゃ〜〜、そうとは知らずにずいぶん捨ててしまった。。。くやし〜〜〜。

Something new that I had to learn was "CRV."  My car is CR-V.  (^_^)  Anyway, I don't check receipts very often but my husband noticed the charge for "CRV" every time we buy bottled water or juice.  What is that?  CRV stands for California Refund Value.  If you bring the bottles back to the recycling center, you will get the money (CRV) back.  We had thrown away so many bottles, CASH!!!  NOOOOOO~~~~!!!!   Of course, now we never throw away any bottles.  

First time. 初めて。

初めてたこ焼きを作りました。たこはサンディエゴの日本食料品店で調達。なかなか忙しい作業でしたが。。。むむむむ。。。美味しかったぁ！！！チャン家特製たこ焼きを食べたい人は遊びに来てね。

This is called "Takoyaki." We used this Takoyaki machine for the first time. Tako is octopus and yaki means fry. Kids named it "octopus ball." It's rounded pancake with a small piece of octopus inside. It was DELICOUS!!!

過去からの物。Things from the past..

『え？こんなものあったっけ？？』７年ぶりに開けた箱の中からはあまり使えるものは出てきませんでした。。。でも、思い出が沢山詰まっていました。

So, what did we find in those boxes from the past?  Well, not much useful nor valuable stuff we found, but many colorful precious memories we couldn't throw away.

What?!! えっ？！！

うそでしょぉーーー。明日また荷物が届く。。。せっかく片付けたばかりなのに。。７年間倉庫に置き去りの荷物、今さら必要なものがあるのだろうか？浦島太郎だ。。。
No way!! STUFF will be delivered to our home tomorrow. Seven years abandoned in the storage, how much of that do we need? Ahhh..... I don't wanna see any more boxes!!

落ち着け。。。テメキュラの夕焼けは美しい。。。あぁ。。。。ため息。。。

Be still! OK. Sunset calms my heart. I love this time of the day..

Take a break. ちょっと休憩。

毎日引越しと学校のことばかりじゃへとへと。。気分転換に。。。干ししいたけと花。期間限定のセールだったから、新しいミシンも買っちゃった！

I needed break from all the moving and new schools. So, I went out to the patio and had a good look of the garden and dried some mushroom for extra vitamine D. I bought sewing machine that was on sale at Costco. Mmm, I am thinking ... thinking... what should I make?!!!

Second day. 二日目。

昨日は皆めちゃ疲れた！！寝る。。。

We were all so exhausted yesterday.  We had to wake up at 5:45am! 

Kevin made two friends yesterday and he likes his teacher and class.  Joshua is overwhelmed by the number of students, over 3000!!!  Riki is still trying to figure out...

First day of school 学校一日目。

いや〜〜。み〜〜んなドキドキだ。。。ケビンは別。。。

We are all nervous except Kevin.  

Backyard.裏庭。

家の裏庭です。バーベキューグリルも冷蔵庫もあるよ。皆遊びに来てね。

引っ越しだ！Moving!

今日は引っ越し。大小３００以上の箱が家の中に運び込まれました。家の中はごちゃごちゃ。月末にはアリゾナの倉庫に７年間おかれていたもの１５０箱ほどが届けられます。ぎゃぁ〜恐ろしい。。。こちら、整理整頓前の写真です。その後に期待を。。そうそう大家さんがビリヤードテーブルを置いてってくれました。腕を磨くぞぉ！

9 huge wooden crates was unloaded.  Over 300 boxes were carried into the house and some unpacked.  Don't want to think about the 150 arriving  from the storage in Arizona end of this month.  ZZZZZZGGGGGGGAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!  OK, I am OK.  

Here are some "BEFORE" picture of our house.  Wait for the "AFTER" photos!!  Ahhhhhh...in 3 mon.??  Oh, owner left his pool table for us.  Nice!

Kevin's story

Kevin started his story a while ago back in April.  If you haven't read, please go back and read the very first one.  

The coconut named Bob finally found a friend in a tree.  So, he climbed up the tree and tried to wake up his friend.  But his friend didn't wake up.  

By the way, his friend's name is John.  John didn't wake up, so Bob climbed down the tree and tried to find a second friend.  He walked down the street and saw few coconut walking down the street, so he smiled and said hello to them.

車だぁ！Got a CAR!!

やったぁ！超嬉しい！！車をゲット！自由に飛び回れるって感じかしら。。。お金もひらひらと飛んでったけどね。。。とにかく、右斜線を走る！それだけ覚えていないと。。。

I am so happy, so so happy.  I got a CAR!!! I feel like I can fly freely in a big  blue sky.  Well, sure money flew a way quicker than I did.  Just need to remember to drive "Right side of lanes."

Just right cafe.

やぁ〜〜っと見つけました。オールドタウンにあるカフェ。小さな店ですが、ホットサンドイッチやクレープ、手作りクッキーやクロワッサン、ジェラートなどなどを、ちょうどいい加減の量で出してくれます。私はほうれん草とチーズのクレープ。たけちゃんはトマトとハーブのクレープ。美味しかった！！子供たちは温かいサンドイッチ。これもまた美味。デザートにレモンのシャーベットとバニラアイスをいただきました。

We finally found a place that serves just right amount of food.  It's a nice cafe in Old Town Temecula.  They serve crepes which they make fresh with nice sauce, fresh vege and fruits.  I had mine with Spinach and goat cheese.  Tak-Kei had Margarita?! which is a sauce made with fresh tomato and herbs.  Yumm...  Boys had hot sandwich.  Later we had gelato.  Yum yum...

Too much. でかすぎ！

テメキュラについて、かれこれ一週間。毎日毎日食べ歩き。外食もこうも続くと疲れる。悩みは量の多さ。。最初はいつも食べ過ぎた上に、ホテルに残り物を持ち帰り。。結局残り物を食べる事無く。。また残り物を持って帰る繰り返し。。１週間たった今は、５人でレストランに入って３人分のオーダー。ちょっとお店の人に悪い気もするけれど、食べずに残すのも悪い気がして。。。
A week is gone already since we arrived in Temecula. The headache nowadays is where to eat. We are finding few nice restaurants, but it's just the serving size is a bit too big for us. We stuffed ourselves so much and carried out the left-overs and never got hungry to eat the left-overs and threw them away. We used to feel a bit embarrased to order three entrees, but now we don't care. We don't want to waste our food.

No car for two days

たけちゃんが車でメキシコに出張。車がないとあわれなアメリカ生活。。。どこにも行けないよ〜。２日間ホテルで暇つぶし。。。

Tak-Kei is gone to Mexico for two days.   We got no car and what can we do?!  Killing time in the hotel room.

Bye bye Japan and Hello America

楽しかった日本での夏休みにお別れして、新しい生活の始まるアメリカへ到着。。。

Good bye to the happy times in Japan and Hello to the new life in Temecula, California.
